Back in the mid 50s I had a Schuco Micro Racer. Still have all my Lionel trains but not any of the other toys I had.

Looked like this one....

More info, please?

I don't know much. Lorenz Bolz was a German toy maker, originating around 1880. I think the most famous toy they made was a line of lithographed spinning tops made of sheet tin. It seems they also made music boxes for children as well. I've seen stuff of theirs from the inter-war period, then resuming postwar. I suspect they are no longer in business, but someone has bought the name or is licensed to manufacture replicas of some of their toys. I think they also made those little put-put tin boats, the ones you put a candle in or a small alcohol burner. Some of their mechanical toys were pretty ornate/complex...I've seen a tin motorcycle toy that featured a chain-drive.

I would love to find one of these:

I have a few of those around here somewhere, too, along with some Schucos that look to be ~ 1/43-scale. They made some others that were quite large, which included changeable bits and came with a tool set.

A brace of Triumph TR-3s as produced by Jouef in 1/43-scale:

Who is responsible when an autonomous car breaks the law?
Image
In conventional (human-driven) cars, the answer is simple: the driver is responsible because they are in control. When it comes to autonomous vehicles, it isn't so clear cut.

Police Pull Over Driverless Tesla Model 3 that runs a stop sign:=> https://youtu.be/ivLmUi43vyw

Death by Uber self-driving car:=> https://youtu.be/hthyTh_fopo

Tempe, Arizona, police faulted the dead woman for jay walking.

Arizona legislation Section 28-793 prohibits pedestrians from “jaywalking,” or crossing the roadway where there is not a marked crosswalk or intersection. ... Doing so constitutes jaywalking, and may lead to pedestrian liability.

How many states are they actually legal to have on the road?

Twenty nine but requirements vary by state.

The Uber car that caused a pedestrian death was operating under a special permit. The permit was not revoked after the accident but Uber stopped testing and failed to renew the permit.

There are currently 37 states along with the District of Columbia that have enacted legislation or issued executive orders regarding Autonomous Vehicles (AVs).

13 states simply authorize a study, define key terms or state contacts, or authorize funding
8 states authorize testing, while 11 states and the District of Columbia authorize full deployment. Of these, 12 states now allow testing or deployment without a human operator in the vehicle.
5 states regulate truck platooning (driver-less trucks following a lead truck with a driver.)

I would imagine there are scurrilous individuals out there among the Darkweb and elsewhere who are trying to figure out how to use their computers to interfere with and/or control those "autonomous " vehicles, even now , as we speak on the topic, to cause damage and mayhem .

They can already hack your car now; most cars already have a connection in them for communications, WiFi, etc...

Does that have to do with control of the actual vehicle itself or just contact with the phone you may have aboard?
