I haven't shoveled snow since 1975.
I do not miss it.

Re: Hobo Jungle
Ah, Murph. I would love to have that pizza parlor session with the bo's. I have actually met Wayne and his wonderful wife, Mary, talked with the Dirt on the phone, and had further conversation with HRJ's wife while he was on duty during Katrina. At several critical junctures in the evolution of MTJ, I spoke with HRJ himself. I have original art from the Tramp (which is valued and honored) and communication that has moved me (that guy knows how to write and get to the soul). I would love to meet Hev, but would not like to arm wrestle him. Someday, seeing Dirt's brood and the redhead, meeting Jon's youngster, and experiencing the life with the Pennsylvania bo's would be great. These are good people.

Hey Bro's! Been visiting the wife's relatives in Louisiana for the weekend. Cousin Earl with Auntie Madge and Flo! I can't remember ever having so much fun at a Motel 6!!!!! Ya'll missed a hell of a cajun reunion!!!!

Re: Hobo Jungle
That Earl's a fine boy, ain't he? Hand/eye coordination of a fighter pilot, steady as a rock, and a keen sense for business. Madge and Flo are a bit beyond the milf stage, but I reckon it's fun to drink with them.

Re: Hobo Jungle
San, You picked up on Earl's skill's right off! Although he claims he learned his flying skills in the Korean War, his career as a crop duster pilot was sadly cut short rather early after a forced landing through a trailer park. He's now pursuing his new career in his 3rd year internship as a "master fry boy" at a local Popeye's Fried Chicken restaurant. Madge and Flo are clipping right along between stripping at bachelors parties and selling pickled ochre at a road side stand.

Brings to mind this old one:
What are Phillipe Petit, walking a tightrope across the Grand Canyon, and Hobo Pete, getting a BJ from Auntie Madge, both thinking at the exact same time??

You forgot, he fancied himself a local stud-boy, but the dumbest of the 60's dance crazies who tried him out found his aunties' fried ochre to be the better treat. In the last analysis, he was discovered to just be a lapsed altar boy who evolved into a cheap provocateur-in-training, a disco imp who loved chocolate milk and made tamborines for socially frustrated heroines. He was one of those guys you found yourself glad he never had kids.

P.S. The only "crop dusting" he ever did was at train shows...(edited)..

You're probably better off, then, and none the worse for wear.

Murph,
You deleted part of your post! May I remind you of the MTJ Rules and Regulations (MTJRR):

No fair deleting what you said after someone comments on it.

It is double bad to comment on a comment and then delete the original comment.

I felt your comment was a request/advice to do so, or at least, disdain, thus satisfying the second rule. It seemed you were being diplomatic about it, so I felt I'd pay you the respect and courtesy of deleting the offending (low-brow) part. By inserting the word "edited" I was confessing.

Roger,
1) I care what Murph writes.
2) I already read it and was poking fun at OGR.
3) Actually OGR has some good posts. I used to enjoy reading them before I discovered MTJ.
4) My post on rules was a joke on Murph (oops, I just gave myself away.)
5) There is no such thing as MTJRR-E9-05067 45 CFR Part 88.
6) CFR is an abbreviation for Code For Responses (but I made that up too.)
7) Would it be funny to delete my MTJRR post?
Sometimes I crack myself up.
9) "8 )" is mistaken for Cool Smiley.
10) I see that Murph has already responded (he didn't get it at all.)
Murph,
Sorry. I was not serious.
I lived in various areas of Southern California from age zero to thirty. Did I ever tell you guys about growing up in Los Angeles? I'll tell it from the viewpoint of a Texan I met once.
Tex moved to California from Texas and got a job. At first, no one talked much to him. Then they started insulting him. He went to his boss and asked what he was doing wrong? After he told about the insults the boss laughed and told him that the insults mean that he had been accepted.
So, with that explained, he started insulting them back. Life was good.
Then Tex visited the town in Texas where he had grown up. Walking down Main Steet he met one of his old girl friends. He addressed her with this, "Hi Linda, where'd you get the shoes... Salvation Army?"
Linda immediately burst into tears and ran away.
From then on Tex remembered to save his insults for his California friends.
I like you Murph. I laugh when you are sarcastic about something I say. So, "Thanks for the memories." was said said in jest to a friend. Didn't mean I did not enjoy your comments.

Re: Hobo Jungle
Wayne, I had a feeling you were being facetious, but I could not be certain. Therefore, I was not going to triffle w/ what might have been the intention of your posting, esp. since we don't have a long history of interaction, nor facial expressions, nor tone of voice. I probably had guilt about that part of the post in the first place, so I figured I had better err on the side of respect, rather than be flippant about what might have been any actual disdain on your part for somethng I knew was crude in the first place. Thus, I added your good reputation and keen mind to my being a little too grade-school-playful at times and arrived at guilt.
I must admit, it is pleasant to learn I was right in concluding you were being playful because that means you trusted me. We are playful with whom we trust, I believe. And I am respectful toward people I respect. I just could not take the chance I might have been offensive. It seemed by your taking possible exception to my words, you were subtly cautioning me I was being undignified in such low-brow humor.
Conversing w/ you, Wayne, is always interesting.
And thanks for the consideration of posting your clarification.
