I think that's why it was a very good idea to have cancelled the lastest TCA Meet @ York, PA, and why it would continue to be a good idea to do so.

The Sept. meets that I had on my calendar are beginning to get cancelled.

Yes, but after the lock down was eased (people knew by then what we were dealing with) the idiots just went wild (still are). Crammed into restaurants, public pools, beaches, resorts and anywhere else they can find. Even during the lock down, many refused to stay put, wear masks or be responsible. CNN carried daily WH briefings for at least a month, all news channels were 90% Covid related, so it was pretty hard not to understand the problem, they just chose to ignore it.

Not saying Trump was a good example (actually he's an idiot), just saying a lot of people showed no responsibility towards others or themselves. Goes back to the old parental reprimand when you used the excuse of "everyone else was doing it". "If everyone else jumps off a cliff are you going to do the same?" This shouldn't have anything to do with Trump, this is self survival.

It shouldn't but he's a very real part of the problem.

He shows up w/o a mask, says terribly foolish nonsense, and people just believe it all. Like 99% of the cases are harmless....or that it was all going away by Easter, etc.

And yes a lot of irresponsible people that should know better have behaved badly endangering themselves and every one around them.

I will state that all that seems very far from here at times; don't see many w/o a mask. Stores are pretty well set up and most are behaving.

Buck's county opened up libraries last week. Only to run smack into a sparing match and people removed by police officers. No one was allowed in without a mask. They would give you one to keep if you like. They would pick books and dvd for you and bring them curbside. If you wanted. They cranked up the wifi to reach out into the parking lot.allowing people to check books from outside. Every I was dotted and T crossed by the library. When people spouted off about special medical conditions and rules. They were removed by police. People had every possible option to receive library material without going in maskless. They were not held back from going in. They were told " not to enter" . When they entered. They were cited and removed. After about the third person people got the message.

WOW! I really didn't expect that. I would have thought that people using a library were more intelligent than that.

35-40 year old females. They cause most of the problems about mask wearing (in my area). Entering a library dose not guarantee intelligence. You can checkout some dumb *** dvds there. Our library was handing out bandanas or plastic face shields. take your pick.

Our local bank when they reopened the lobby a month ago have been giving out free mask.

Our libraries in this country opened yesterday for limited express access inside; masks required and 30 min time limits.

No problem; in & dropped off my books in the bin, on to the on reserve shelves; grabbed my books, did the self checkout, and thanked all the staff for their being there; off to the bank..........in line at the drive through felt like forever since folks can't be bothered to be prepared in advance; act like they had no idea that they might be at the bank at the drive through.....need to be some doc notarized - no, tomorrow. So made an appointment and will go back. Got to hit the one PO over there to mail an eBay sale since I could not today since the PO was unable to locate the address on the box -- something weird where the road got renamed but the PO never accepted the re-naming......

Our library is holding all returned items in quarantine . For 3 days it will sit in a UV lit box. Then restocked for future checkout.

Ours is holding for 72 h as well; not sure how you irradiate every book surface and interior with uv -- it's not going to go through the covers....

Well at least the police won't have to worry about being shot at a traffic stop anymore. I feel sorry for the city workers who will have to handle this.

Yeah, I don't see how this won't morph into more injuries/deaths of the civilian enforcers. I've seen videos of police stopping belligerent drivers displaying a lot of disrespect. Unarmed civilians stopping a drunk or druggie could get ugly fast. And seems like an excellent way for an opportunists to make a lot of money in bribes and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Sounds like a decent idea on the surface, but wait until the reality of the idea plays out. Less police is not good. Better police is.

Growing up in the 60's I thought it was ironic that many of the guys who became local cops were the near-do-wells in HS who were in trouble more than others. Maybe because of their numerous run ins with the police they decide to join them.
