Murph, just what in the hell are you talking about?

If you agree with the Progressives, it's freedom of speech. If you disagree, it's hate speech. There are no alternatives.

Err.... I was referring to me ranting, but it was a joke.

Back in 1977 NOVA did a two part series on, "Tongues of Men." (Original broadcast dates: 05/11/77 and 05/18/77.)
I remember a sub-title, "Man the Great Communicator." I immediately recognized that as a "True Lie." They should
have said, "Man the Great Mis-communicator."
Now, to quote the famous author of "Automotive 101," just what in the hell are you talking about Murph?

If a guy says something alone in a forest and no woman is around, is he still wrong? (Man, I love that one, still.)

Re: Hobo Jungle
Hev struggled to get a mechanical contraption(my word for it) to working, and never gave up, all the while making me feel welcome and not awkward at all. There's a gentle smile that consistently emerges from his heroic stature which invites friendship with ease. I was glad for his company.
Yeah, Murph, Hev's the real deal. What you see is what you get, no guile or pretense. Him and Patty both. As gracious as hosts can be, (if you don't mind getting your chops busted on a regular basis!
Hev was replacing the drive-belt on his old JD riding mower, an unnecessary task at that time except that the adults use it to pull a trailer with seats that all the kids ride in. Back pain regardless, he would not let the kids go without. He paid the price, too, but that's him.
Here's a pic with him pulling two of the kids...
Murph, glad you showed up. We'll have to arrange it better next time. You maybe saw a tenth of the whole thing, if even that. You up to doing it again next year?
There's a gentle smile that consistently emerges ...
Oh, and don't get fooled by that! Behind that 'gentle smile' is a wicked sense of humor and a brain that's thinking twisted thoughts.

Murph,
Yes. I took that photo in my back yard. The Spade Footed toads spend most of their life buried in the ground in aestivation. If you accidently dig one up, it apperars dried up and long dead. But, put it in water and it swells up and comes back to life. This awakening process occurrs automatically with the first summer rains. In Tucson, it is impossible to not notice that the spadefoots have emerged, as their calls sound like a flock of sheep outside your bedroom window!

Yes, indeed, Andre, you are right - it was. And I look forward to going back there again, provided Hev and Dirt say it's a go.
