Interesting choice of words.
Reminds me of...

"...all the world is set in evil..."
--1 John 5:19, Wycliffe Bible (WYC) 1395 C.E.

I have more words for them but thought them inappropriate for here, and I did not want to say anything intrusive to what seemed to be your purpose here.

What!? The master of derailing threads trying to stay on track? Let me tell you exactly how I feel about you and your sidetracks.

I have a friend named Bobbie who is married to Larry. Bobbie is a master of sarcasm. One day, some of Bobbie's friends got on her case for abusing her husband verbally. Bobbie took the admonition to heart and put a buffer on her sarcasm.

After two weeks of being sweet, Larry asked her, "What is wrong with you?"

Bobbie answered, "What do you mean?"

To which Larry replied, "You have been nice to me for two weeks!"

So Bobbie explained. Larry then told her, "I want my old wife back!"

I relate that true story to aid your understanding as I tell you that your sidetrack episodes are part of your personality that I enjoy. Even if I do not comment or get involved, I do read them and think about what you say.

Oh. Ah. Ok.

Indeed. Congress should never be underestimated.

Let me drive you to a city of my choosing, to let you off (day or night, you decide), and you can see, upon exiting (I'll pick you up a few hours later), hopefully intact and unscathed, and possessed of all things-shiny you entered with, if it was a Congressperson who mugged your keester.

(I apologize, Wayne, for the thread-deviating-and-thread-purity-offending posting.)

Like Baltimore when about 3 weeks after those riots I and my wife walked for about 4 hours through the city w/o any problems whatsoever?
Like Philly where we did the same just 2 months ago w/o any problems whatsoever?
Like NYC Where I & my wife walked about individually for 4+ days on/off w/o any problems whatsoever?

I'd be more worried about walking a few miles up the mountain ridge behind my place in PA.

Just because you don't have the bruises and blood, don't doubt that Congress OTOH mugs you everyday and comes back for more.

I actually like Baltimore and we had a good time, good food, I got an award and plaque for on the wall, and I got to inflict myself on an audience for an hour lecture. Good times......

I don't think it was Rufus' appearance that saved him from attack but his reputation as the most dangerous dictator the world has ever known. Have you seen the documentary, "Duck Soup?"

You did not understand my words.

Then I guess tone-of-voice and facial expression might have made a difference because reading, "The master of derailing threads trying to stay on track?" meant something to me. Your viewpoint matters to me.

I suppose it is the freedom of expression prevelant on this forum which has always encouraged me to allow myself to suggest we explore different directions that were inspired by the original subject on any given thread. I thought I was being convivial and conversational with what I have added to threads.

Roy pointed out, not too long ago, an exception he was taking to a drifting I was adding to a thread he authored, and so, since he was correct I desisted immediately. However, I didn't realize my string of offenses was so great as to be considered a "master of derailing threads."

Thus, I am trying very hard, presently , to speak less and to definitely not intrude into threads with drifting. That's a firm promise .

I'm glad you wised me up . I had no idea, frankly.
Now I do. Thank you .
