Actually, I can. The average person is only slightly more intelligent than a sheep. I've amazed by how many manage to find their way out the birth canal w/o getting lost.

Finding a road map today is next to impossible.

Collectable antiques now........got a drawer full of the things and few in the car still..........just in case.........despite being grossly out of date.

There are many drawbacks with a smartphone. My clients send texts all day long. Can i see a photo of my furniture? Can you hold a piece of blue cloth next to it? I'd like to she what it would look like with blue drapes. My voicemail Says " i only call people back on Wednesday" " send an email If we don't respond don't worry we got and feel no need to respond."

Part of that is this ridiculous entitle behavior that everyone believes that you must drop whatever you are doing and respond to their every whim. This permeates today's every activity - the Gods help you if those gimboids over on OGR can't order something from you on-line, or that your web site is down, or you don't return e-mail immediately. Calling someone of the phone seems to totally be a lost concept to far too many. Maybe a lot of what's wrong in the world is that people don't talk to each other and listen.....and just want you attention to their text.

Business is one thing, but I see no great value to having a Smartphone in my life for the routine; the traffic navigator app that my passenger in the car can pull up that lets them look far ahead so that I can avoid messes is great - but I can't use it while driving..... GPS that I have has proven to be 99% adequate to my real needs.

I will admit that when I finally downloaded and learned to use the Waze application, the smart phone started to take on some usefulness for me.

I'm going to fall in love with my wife even more, helping us spend even more time together.

It was just yesterday that I said to her, "This, this here, this right now, this is the rest of our lives. Let's give serious thought to how we want to spend it. The next hour. The next day. Next week. Next...?" She agreed it was time for serious thought on the rest of our life together.

When I need it, I'll get one......but I'm not going out and buying an $800 phone just so I can text people

Mines free. I know nothing is free! I get a new phone when i renew my 2 year contract. It's not the newest hottest model. But then neither am I. I can talk to it and it will answer back. When i'm driving our delivery truck. i need the phone to be voice activated. I need a phone that will speak to me. basically hands free or the D.O.T. will slap some heavy fines on me. You'll need one soon. Technology will change making flip phones unusable. 4G 5G or what ever system the come up with. This is why i don't have a company website. One some company makes a new phone, tablet or operating system 20 of the people can't view your website. So the plug got pulled real quick on our website. I have no regrets. If any business was lost. i don't care. It is easier with out a web presence. People ask all the time. Do you have a website, twitter facebook or blog? No i'm not that narcissistic!

Well, that makes good sense and needed for business. All I need to check is e-mail at this time, and even then, I can afford the peace of not looking at my e-mail for a day or 3.

When I'm at my place in PA --- nothing works (AT&T maybe if you're facing the right direction outside gets a weak signal that is pretty unreliable). No reception. Got to drive 6 miles to get line of sight to the PA TP to get a signal. I'll be looking into running a connection from a long distance or going to satellite - just no other options there.

You'll need one soon. Technology will change making flip phones unusable.

I keep hearing that but it has not happened and as long as it's just a phone and nothing more, I think it won't for a good while; lot of flip phones still out there

I don't know who set up your web site and oversaw it, but that updating is something that's very doable. Should have been done routinely.

Me too, Rufus! Folks think that everybody now has an I-phone of some sort. I just got my very first mobile phone, (it'll be two years in May), and it's a Kyocera flip phone. I barely know how to make a call or answer it, but it serves the purpose for an old man who rarely goes anywhere. I did use it as a flashlight once; took me 5 minutes to figure it out.

Aside from that, do you have any other creative interests? Maybe, something you've always wanted to try?

Should F.A.O. Schwarz establish a presence in Manhattan again, and should such a store have a return of the Lionel layout, I might be interested in refurbishing and refreshing that layout again.

Also, driving to Kansas to work on my client's layout there for a second time might be a possibility. This time, my wife would take the adventure with me.

A vigorous renewal of our inviting guests into our home to see the layout is a possibility, too, something about which I have had little imterest for quite a while, now.

Also, an elderly lady, formerly one of my wife's teachers in childhood, approached me at church yesterday informing me that she had her (deceased) husband's train(s) that she needs to "do something with." She explained he got them when he was 1yr old, which would put them in the very early 1900's. I replied that I might be able to visit her to see them, take photos, and broker their possible sale for her to a local model train specialist and/or show them on forums for her.

Then, there is the creative rescue of my whole yard, since I have some solid suggestions from Rufus as to what new plants might be worth the effort.

It's nice of you to ask, Roy. Thanks.

For several years I left mine in the car - it was there in case of an emergency. Everywhere else I was usually had a phone available.

Do it and do it now because tomorrow may never come. I wish now the wife and I had taken more trips and cruises before her passing.

Thanks, HONDO. I much appreciate your replying to my outreach. We are coming to realize that more and more.
I honestly cannot imagine how one looses a spouse and recovers. I'd rather go first. That may sound like being generous, but I would offer the observation that it is, alas, ironically, unfortunately, not.

If it works for you, no. But I bet long distance is a bugger!
