If that were to happen, Wayne might have some ocean front property in Arizona.

Most of the state of California is east of the San Andreas fault. The capital of California is Sacramento, 88 miles east of the San Andreas fault. California as a whole is not going anywhere. And Arizona is not going to have any ocean front property.

Yeah, but losing the LA basin would be a great start to cleaning up California. From the programs I've watched recently and in the past about tectonic plates, it's not as much about how much they are moving yearly, as how much energy is stored up from movement for decades or centuries. Seems once it hits saturation point one plate slides under the other and you have problems. The plates off the CA coast are overdue for movement according to some scientists, but like everything else in our world, there are a lot of opinions.

NFL if kneeling quarterback Kaepernick

I haven't watched professional sports in decades, as the spirit of the game isn't there for me anymore. I hope this guy is never signed again. He made a stupid statement with his actions (IMHO) and now he is suffering the consequences. Another case of misplace arrogance and thinking more of yourself than being a team player. What an ego. He could give a shit about the reason he would not stand, just trying to be in the news. Go back to the streets and maybe they'll think you're a big deal. :P :P :P :P

My bank requires people to remove hats when entering. Funny thing is they are not allowed to ask someone to remove religious clothing

I started the thread with the intention of possibly providing a little entertainment and pump up contributions a little here on the forum. Your statement implies I was stupid for starting it, and everybody else is stupid for contributing. If you don't like it, stay the hell off of it!

Oh, I like it alright Mitch. Didn't you invite me to, "Feel free to chime in with any stupid thing you hear or see."?
The title, "How Stupid Are They?", says this is a thread about, "Stupid", thus it is a "stupid thread."

I am always reading, hearing and/or seeing the concept of California falling off into the sea. That is stupid. I gave some evidence to show why it is stupid to say such a thing. I thought I was within the boundaries set by the title (no thread drift.)

I wonder where the LA basin will go after it passes San Fransico in 12 million years?

The stored up energy in California earth faults gets released every day. Occasionally a spot gets stuck for a long time and when it finally breaks free, California experiences a large earthquake.

California has had: (M1.5 or greater)
24 earthquakes in the past 24 hours
195 earthquakes in the past 7 days
900 earthquakes in the past 30 days
8,099 earthquakes in the past 365 days

The largest earthquakes in California:
today: 3.0 in Mammoth Lakes, California, United States
this week: 3.6 in El Sauzal, Baja California, Mexico
this month: 5.1 in Ferndale, California, United States
this year: 6.5 in Ferndale, California, United States

All 50 Mexican consulates in the U.S. launched legal assistance centers to form partnerships with nonprofit groups and tap lawyers to help undocumented immigrants fearing President Donald Trump's immigration policies, according to The Associated Press.

How stupid are they to think that would work.

Pitiful, not only to find themselves in a position - self-inflicted - of having to say that aloud, but the response of more shootings ...It certainly isn't folks traveling in from the suburbs doing the mischief. The violence has become a way of life; rather, of hopelessness and death. Pitiful, indeed. But how long will it take for the infection to spread/ Or has it already begun to be "exported"?

Probably in Baltimore that was a very real decrease. Maybe knowing what the average is on a weekend there might put that into better context - I don't know... Fox is the last place I'd be going to get 1st hand info that required the use of numbers...

But OTOH, it's perfectly acceptable to wish for CA to have an earthquake that would kill 10's of millions, and totally devastate our economy. Yup. That's the ticket!

Nobody said they want people from California to die. We just want that state to float away in some sort of Kumbaya way.

Baltimore made it from 06,08,2017 to 07,25,2017 without a homicide or a cease fire in that time period. that is no reported homicide.

Why? I've been getting this shit about California ever since I went to visit a cousin that had a summer place on Lake Huron. The first thing out of a kid's mouth is "Where are you from?" My first answer was Whittier. They didn't know where that was, even though Nixon was President at the time. So, I started saying L.A., or California. Their heads would start rotating, and they'd spew shit in all directions. I still don't understand.

Right. That'll happen. Conversely, maybe the entire center of the country can be conveniently consumed by a ginourmous volcanic eruption w/o any harm to the perimeter of the country....or to any people living there.....but they'll all still just magically go away...

Roy --> It's a convenient target...............for those who associate CA with everything that they do not like and that threatens their ideology. It's all too easy to take out the big brush and tar millions of people you don't know anything about.....
