Hobos, have any of you ever had smoke coming out from under your engine? Not electrical burning kind of smoke—I know we've all had the damn things melt down into door stops—I'm taking about stack smoke not exiting the stack but pouring out below. Any help will buy you all the beer you can drink in an hour.

Two guesses, Tramp. If the unit is fan driven the fan is running/put on backwards. Or the brass cylinder going down the smoke stack isn't seated in the smoke unit squarely.

Jon, I'm guessing the fan is the issue. How do I fix that? Gog, I like this hobby, but every time I run trains at least something will not work. I know you go through the same shite all the time.

It's my 3rd Rail Berk that's had problems out of the box as everyone at the Jungle knows. It's been back to California three times. The smoke always worked until it went back the last time. I think you might be correct about the fan.

Tramp, As you know I don't use smoke. Gary had sent me a new smoke unit with my CB&Q O5a that I never installed. You're more then welcome to it. The bitch is carefully prying off the smoke box front cover and replacing it. No task for the faint of heart- I can assure you.

Seems the artist Paul Delvaux would have fit right in here with us hobos. He had a love of nude women and trains. :D

That may be a simple thing like too much smoke fluid in there. The stack needs a blow job
