What size engine is in it?

No way, Tramp. With 3.92 gears, I'll be lucky to get 14 city, 18 highway.

No, Jon. Every week they go to the auction to buy used vehicles, ('cause they sell more used than new), and employee pricing is $500 over cost at the auction, plus any repairs or whatever needs to be done to get road ready.

In my case, (with only 16,000 miles on it), I brought it in at lunchtime and put it up in the air and took a good look. Didn't even make a repair order on it. It's already state inspected 'til Feb, and needs only an oil change and an air filter. There are some other minor discrepancies that I'll fix at my convenience. There's about a year left on the factory 3year 36K warranty, but ya gotta remember, I am the warranty.

Oh, BTW, it is the 4.7L V8. I really wasn't lookin' for a Hemi.

Due to certain current events, I went to get the lyrics to "Shake, Rattle, and Roll". I found Big Joe Turner's version much more piquant that the Bill Haley milquetoast version.

Get outta that bed, wash your face and hands
Get outta that bed, wash your face and hands
Well, you get in that kitchen, make some noise with the pots and pans

Well, you wear low dresses, the sun comes shining through
Well, you wear low dresses, the sun comes shining through
I can't believe my eyes all that mess belongs to you

I believe to my soul you're a devil in nylon hose
I believe to my soul you're a devil in nylon hose
Well, the harder I work, the faster my money goes

I said, shake, rattle and roll, shake, rattle and roll
Shake, rattle and roll, shake, rattle and roll
Well, you won't do right to save your doggone soul

I'm like a one-eyed cat peeping in a seafood store
I'm like a one-eyed cat peeping in a seafood store
Well, I can look at you and tell you ain't no child no more

Ah, shake, rattle and roll, shake, rattle and roll
Shake, rattle and roll, shake, rattle and roll
Well, you won't do right to save your doggone soul

I said, over the hill and way down underneath
I said, over the hill and way down underneath
You make me roll my eyes, Baby, make me grit my teeth

I said, shake, rattle and roll, shake, rattle and roll
Shake, rattle and roll, shake, rattle and roll
Well, you won't do right to save your doggone soul

Damn if that don't sound like The Dirt after a night of paw dipping and flattail stuff.

I don't know about down your way, Jon, but in Pa., folks are dumpin' trucks and SUVs. There are some really good deals out there if you can find a dealer who is willing to take far less than retail. The window sticker for this truck is in the glove box, and it's nearly $33K, meaning, it probably sold for around $28 new. Normally, a 5 year old 4WD truck would still sell for 2/3 the original price, but at $500 over cost at the auction, I paid $13,100, meaning they bought it for $12,600, but I really think they paid too much for it. If you look at Kelly Bluebook, the trade-in value for this truck would only have been $8,900. That's a hell of a hit for a truck not quite 3 years old.

I don't know what the incentives are on new trucks. But I've seen new ones in the paper with up to $10grand off. If you buy a new one now, Chrysler guarantees you gas for $2.99 a gallon, good for 12,000 miles per year, for 3 years. They also have the lifetime limited powertrain warranty on all new cars and trucks. (That means I have to work on those f&^kers for damn near nothin' forever).

Mitch, I just got off the phone with a Dodge saleman. The 50 percent off deal ain't quite 50 percent off. The sticker on a Dodge Hemi 345 HP truck is 33,000.00 The discount, like you said, is only 10,000. That don't add up to half off like I've been seeing in the commercials down here!
