Meet You at the Palm Tree Bar

Postby webenda » Mon Jul 28, 2008 11:37 pm

The pentailed treeshrew (Ptilocercus lowii) frequents natural bars in the trees.
Image
Flower buds of the bertam palm (Eugeissona tristis) generate nectar high
in alcohol (up to 3.8%.) The alcohol is facilitated by a fermenting yeast
community in the flower buds. The tree shrews spend several hours each
night drinking at the Palm Tree Bar and partying. It is yet unclear to what
extent treeshrews benefit from ingested alcohol.

Wayne, do you notice a resemblance of that fellow to any of our hobos?

Here are my new bibles.

Wow! I freakin' LOVE this picture! Almost puts me to mind of an altar.

I had the same set for the Farmall- parts, owner's, and service manuals from IH, and a shop manual from I&T. I ate with them, slept with them, carried them to work and back every day, even took them with me to sit on the d*mn pot. They were the last thing I saw before falling asleep, and the things I had cracked-open with my morning joe.
Not a one of mine were original however.
Hev got a set of original manuals with his F-20. I was so jealous when I saw them I could have sh*t on the spot.

I'm sure you realize what you have. Maybe only motorheads can grok these. Take care of them.

Wish you wouldn't be so miserly with pictures. Especially after 30 pages of a Farmall, when I wasn't afraid to fall flat on my face with a 'national' audience. And did. Oh well, chalk it up to the difference. But, my loss.

GP, Don't take it personal!! This thread always lulls out in the Spring and Summer months and starts cranking back up around Halloween!!  Hang in there!

Tramp, Nice collection of manuals!!

Pete, How can you say you fell flat on yer face? Hell, yer mowin' grass and picnicking with sweet steamy blondes in the hay, ain't ya? :D

Wow Tramp! Those original factory manuals have to be worth almost as much as the bike. What year is your bike?
When I finish getting the Nort sorted I have a '51 BSA A-10 Golden Flash to rebuild. About the same condition as yours right now.

Norton, the bike is a 1950. I rode a Norton only once in 1975. The 850.

Pete, I love these manuals. I'll take some inside shots because the drawings are truly beautiful. I've had them at the beach even! Sorry about my thin coverage. I've been on another forum where the fellows don't know what gas is. We finally figured out it was petrol.

A round for the house: shots and drafts. Drink up, the summer ain't gonna last too much longer.

I've been on a forum where they don't know what petrol is - turns out it's Cheez-wiz!

Well, I pulled the trigger. '06 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4, 8 foot bed. $297.50 a month for the next 60. This is one long truck.

How about paraffin*? Two people separated by a common language. :)

Next round on me.

Mitch, I believe that's the one that gets 28 per so you'll save that direction. Cheers on the new ride.

Norton, that's a fresh one on me.
