Ya kno zumpin, I thought that even as a kid, that he (I didn't know the term for it then) was deliberately kissing a deceased girl. What was his goal, I wondered, even back then. Honest. :|

They just didn't tell us what happened.
Remember those old movies where the couple went into the bedroom and were next seen lying next to each other smoking a cigarette?

It used to be a rule on TV, back in its early days, that they could never show a couple in-bed together. For example, remember Lucy and Desi's bedroom ? Separate single-beds.

And babies were magically delivered by the stork accompanied by a clown nurse and clown doctor.

The Eddie Haskell (sp?) character in Leave It To Beaver" was quite a remarkable item, in the story and in real-life, I've heard.

The Hayes code, and network standards and practices. To this day, of course, we're similarly ***** by wrongheaded censoriousness. Sanitized, for your protection.

I was tuning in the shine on the light night dial,
doing anything my radio advised.
With every one of those late night stations
playing songs bringing tears to me eyes.
I was seriously thinking about hiding the receiver,
when the switch broke 'cause it's old.
They're saying things that I can hardly believe -
they really think we're getting out of control.

Radio is a sound salvation.
Radio is cleaning up the nation.
They say you better listen to the voice of reason.
But, they don't give you any choice,
'cause they think that it's treason.
So, you had better do as you are told.
You better listen to the radio.

Radio, Radio by Elvis Costello
Torturers, White Racists, Gay Bashers, Rich Psychopaths.
