Its pretty funny that sign is for a restaurant called Casa d' Ice.

A lot of first generation immigrants never learned English but their children had a chance to learn it when they went to school. This was rue for Italians, Poles, Germans, etc. Its not that different for the Spanish minority now, although they do have Spanish television.

Ironically, Miami is the only place I've been where the ATM machine menu's are in English only. Go figure.

Kurt,I guess the picture was taken before Jon and Tramp got there to help with the clean-up.Otherwise there would only be MT's.

I agree,Will. In my home neighborhood in eastern Ohio, the immigrants were very proud to show that they could speak English/American.They considered it an honor to be part of this/our country.

Best wishes for a great 4th from the Maine Coast. Who's ready for a cold fresh beer?

My buddy in Vermont was cracking fresh Labatt 50s (yes you read correctly; they're back) at 10 this morning after one of those celery drinks. Any grilling plans? We have the usual burgers (turkey), corn on the cob, watermelon, ice cream, etc. The standard 4th fare.

Andre, nice watercolor! Is it of your town? Or maybe you have another special reason for it?

Ah the holiday. Just delivered scotch to Tramp's mom, hopefully enough to take her through till tomorrow. Now it's just us and the cats on the porch. Model airplanes to fly and badminton if we feel up to it. LaBatt's if not.

This city is Valparaiso, Chile where I born.
And my brother gave it in my birthday few year ago.
So i think the frame and glass worth the price.
Cheers!!
