Jim, I'm feeling better with every post. Now if only some of the others would catch up. David V seems to have a good head of steam.

Have you noticed that posts vs. have-reads is about 10% for most topics?

Tramp:

No I hadn't noticed..Were you thinking about a trip on route 6? I don't know but I must be getting old or something. For relaxing I just love to cruse down 2 lane roads at about 35 to 40 MPH. You can see a lot of American that no one see's much of these days. Also you wonder what besides farming do these people do for money to live on. I guess they probably go to the nearist city but how far do they have to drive. I told my wife that when I do retire for good I would love to live up along route 6. Course it would be bad in the winter but you get your groceries includeing beer and when the snow gets deep you just snuggle up to the fire and let the world go by while you drink another beer and run trains with TMCC.

Anyone sittin around the fire tonight? It's cold and misty enough for one here on the coast of Maine. I'm working at an ale and walking across the wet grass of my lawn. Trees are liking the weather.

Tramp, it's extremely hot and humid here in Tejas. It's supposed to reach 100 degrees on Sunday. I'm not happy about that. So I'm hitting the road early Saturday morning and heading your way. Keep that fire burning baby! I'll bring a smile and some brews.

For Bruce

Walking down this lonely road
Doesn't seem so long ago
When his soul, a shadow cast
Days of recent past.

Last time that I saw him, that cold stare in his eyes
Told me something I did not care to know.

Late at night I'm awake yet I'm still dreaming
Why can't I ever let go?

Give him a drink of water, Lord
Make him come back to life!
Somebody please tell me this kind of thing ain't right.

(c)1979 by me

Still miss you, bro.

How these things travel in circles....I am looking at p29 with San's reprise of the Billy Idol lyrics and I am thinking I keep playing that song because it is on the album that has been in the Supra ever since the CD changer went in 4 years ago... and I have heard it hundreds of times, and with the top in the trunk and a sunny day it is like Gulliver astriding the various little worlds, only no harm intended, just a jaunt and a fun ride...

Greetings all, just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in.....

Aww heck, I will just reprint it here: Driving thru Pa, Ny, on Rt 81 and elsewhere...Hit,it Billy!

"Last night a little dancer came dancin' to my door
Last night a little angel Came pumpin cross my floor
She said "Come on baby I got a licence for love
And if it expires pray help from above"

In the midnight hour she cried - "more, more, more"
With a rebel yell she cried - "more, more, more"
In the midniight hour babe - "more, more, more"
With a rebel yell - "more, more, more"

She don't like slavery, she won't sit and beg
But when I'm tired and lonely she sees me to bed
What set you free and brought you to be me babe
What set you free I need you hear by me
Because

In the midnight hour she cried - "more, more, more"
With a rebel yell she cried - "more, more, more"
In the midniight hour babe - "more, more, more"
With a rebel yell - "more, more, more"

He lives in his own heaven
Collects it to go from the seven eleven
Well he's out all night to collect a fare
Just so long, just so long it don't mess up his hair.

I walked the ward with you, babe
A thousand miles with you
I dried your tears of pain, babe
A million times for you

I'd sell my soul for you babe
For money to burn with you
I'd give you all, and have none, babe
Just, just, justa, justa to have you here by me
Because

In the midnight hour she cried - "more, more, more"
With a rebel yell she cried - "more, more, more"
In the midniight hour babe - "more, more, more"
With a rebel yell she cried "more, more, more"

Oh yeah little baby
She want more

Oh yeah little baby
She want more

As I live and breathe, Will, it's good to see your post here. You've been out on the road a long time, lad. I sent a smoke signal over e-mail. Hope you get that book back in good order.

Has your associate ever secured the coveted "Lucas, Price of Darkness" award at a contours?

The Lucas motto: "Get home before dark."

Lucas denies having invented darkness. But they still claim "sudden, unexpected darkness"

Lucas--inventor of the first intermittent wiper.

Lucas--inventor of the self-dimming headlamp.

The three-position Lucas switch--DIM, FLICKER and OFF. The other three switch settings--SMOKE, SMOLDER and IGNITE.

Alexander Graham Bell invented the Telephone. Thomas Edison invented the Light Bulb. Joseph Lucas invented the Short Circuit.

BTW, thanks for the yarn about the tragic cabin car.

Came around for a respite from the rest of the world tonight - to visit with my fellows, freaks, and freezer-burned friends. I've even brought some fine ribeye steaks, mushrooms and brandy. We are going to do it up right tonight!
