The northern terminus of the Bloomsburg and Sullivan ended at a lumbering and leather-tanning town called Jamison City, at the foot of North Mountain, with branch lines running into the hills from where came the lumber. Friday was payday, and the boys would come down from the hills to drink and fight and carouse.

So it was Friday, (by way of the Philadelphia and Reading Railroad), the Bloomsburg and Sullivan would provide the last leg of a passenger load of prostitutes from Philadelphia, to help relieve the boys of their paychecks.

These were the Bloomsburg and Sullivan's finest hours.

And speaking of Vivi the missing pooch, it reminds me of my last vacation to the Great Divide. My wife still misses that dog.

I can't put my finger on it, but the K-5 just doesn't have the same appeal as the K-4.

It looks to me that the K5's steam dome , sand dome and stack are cut down taking away the proportions of the overall boiler lines.
out of scale parts on an otherwise scale locomotive,,,

I agree, plus for some reason the boiler shape looks odd.

I think the K5 looks like a K4 on steroids. Maybe it'll grow on you.

The bell is missing form between the smoke stack and the sand dome,that's what makes the boiler look funky,,,

I think Scott may have a hard time justifying the $1,200.00 price of the K-5 when the High Iron K-4's went for less. I would have loved to have seen the only one of it's kind K-4s #1188 with the skyline casing made in the High Iron series.

Yeah, I think for the money I'd rather have the K4.
That is an interesting design there on that locomotive, too bad designers dont do anything cool like that with engines today!
