LOL! Wish I had a Pinto. It would be faster than my Escort, which does a 0-to-60 in a blistering 8.8.... minutes.

But I'm now the proud (and somewhat sheepish) owner of a fire-engine-red 1949 International Harvester Super A.
What the hell I thought I was doing, I'm at a loss to answer. I was born in Hoboken NJ. Never did more digging than a garden. Second craziest thing I ever did, (with the first also involving a redhead. THE redhead). (Third craziest was a jaunt up to Maine)
It's not even that powerful. FIL tells me if I wanted to plow my fields, if I started in May, I might be done by July. lol!
But baby, she sounds sweet! The farmer I bought 'er from wasn't sure, thought she might be a '53 -'54.
1949... makes her just exactly as old as me.

So how 'bout it! Just rode 'er to town, came back with a cold case of Labatt's. Beer's on me!

(I'm still stuck on the thought of Mr. Melvin getting into the weed. That ol' OGR forum would have been One Big Hobo Jungle!!)

Pete, I'll have a beer and a ride. Thanks!

A '49. Imagine that. What a beauty.

Next photo of Melvin in OGR he'll have dreds! High-rail will take on a new meaning.

You know, a great train accessory would be to have a Pinto rear-ended by a Vega. A red light would glow under the Pinto and a smoke unit would kick in.

Or maybe we could have Ralph Nader driving a Corvair that flips over!

Dennis, nice looking products. The ballast is very realistic. Makes me want to lay some track. Why is your loading platform a tad pricey? Is there more than I'm seeing.

Doc, anything that stands Nader on his head!

Pete. I've been vaporized from OGR. I think it's all these comments about Melvin you started.

Tramp, uh-oh! That means I'm likely gone too, (though surely your comments have been the more egregious!)

Well, two redheads in one house, I should have known. Though the first redhead fully approved the second, ALREADY the fireworks:
The first redhead won't let me park the second one in the living room.

Happy Birthday, and a hoist of the tin cup full of Gold(tm) to Hobo Willie!

Long may you reign, good friend!

Is it Will's birthday today? Happy birthday, hobo pal. I'd call and sing it, but Pete made me promise never to do that to anyone ever again. It wasn't THAT bad. Well, maybe.

All the best, Will.

Dennis, what I really need is a water tower kit. But I'll consider the platform. Tell me a bit more about it.

Dennis, are there NBW castings? Detail how? Is the lumber raw? Bass wood? Sorry to be so picky, it's just that I scratchbuilt everything for years, so kits made up of simple strip wood become less intriquing.

Sorry I missed the party. Thanks to all my Hobo pals for the good wishes. My daughter made me dinner and baked a cake. First birthday I haven't been away for work in 7 years.

Here's a pour for you, Stiff. Now if Will had shown up on his birthday and drank his share of Idaho Gold (TM), the rest of us would not have drank so much. I feel like the aftermath of a three day drunk in Ensenada.

As one hobo put it: "Sometimes on slow nights this forum feels like an Oklahoma town in the dustbowl or a business on the old road that has been bypassed by a new superhighway."

Couldn't agree more.

Dang it, Tramp. First the camp empties and then...

... the trailer home catches fire and the Idaho Gold (TM) blew. You didn't by any chance light this off for a little excitement, did you?
