A few videos on youtube snow rear wheels slipping. You would need power to the rear to cause. Slip. Some commentators on one video seems to think the left front cylinder in not working right. I could put a video of a dollar bill on youtube and people would swear it was a 5 spot!

Do they do slippage, for show? I can't imagine that's good for the tires or rails. I do remember seeing British passenger train steamers slip their drivers, in the movies.

Why can't they just keep a back-up diesel in the next track block, rather than coupled into the train? Or, alternately, why don't they convert one or more of the baggage cars into back-up engines?
