I think I know what may have become of the whippet.
In my boyhood I was trained to habits of industry; I not only assisted my father in procuring dogs for his vats, but was frequently employed by my mother to carry away the debris of her work in the studio. In performance of this duty I sometimes had need of all my natural intelligence for all the law officers of the vicinity were opposed to my mother's business. They were not elected on an opposition ticket, and the matter had never been made a political issue; it just happened so. My father's business of making dog-oil was, naturally, less unpopular, though the owners of missing dogs sometimes regarded him with suspicion, which was reflected, to some extent, upon me. My father had, as silent partners, all the physicians of the town, who seldom wrote a prescription which did not contain what they were pleased to designate as _Ol. can._ It is really the most valuable medicine ever discovered. But most persons are unwilling to make personal sacrifices for the afflicted, and it was evident that many of the fattest dogs in town had been forbidden to play with me--a fact which pained my young sensibilities, and at one time came near driving me to become a pirate.

Good Gog Jon that photo killed me. And why does Tramp always look so cool? And why do my hands look like they're crawling out of a crypt?

But I didn't eat Vivi! I'm a vegetarian! And I'd never ever eat a fellow hobo anyway. Well, I did munch down Boop, I'll admit that. And man was she a tasty little morsel. But she was only a hobo for one post anyway.

I think Vivi will still turn up. She's not dog oil San, no. The pyschics all agreed she was inside and warm. I think she was tired of being a super model and craved the hobo life. Craved natural possum dinners and such. Besides, I often get the urge to bolt across the tarmac into the marsh while I'm boarding at JFK myself.

OK, Ok. You don't really fit the profile of a dog-napper let alone a K-9 cook. I was rather in a swamp whippet mood for sure last night though!!!!

As I've heard it, that's a $50,000 dog.
Now, if you were a hobo, and caught that hobo-dog, do you turn it in? :?

What's FACT is that there's a $5,000 reward for it!

Since then, there are now 4 dog-psychics on the case who are "communicating" with the whippet-tramp.

Pasadena, chasing dogs, and other hobo matters

Postby RRRocky » Wed Mar 08, 2006 5:59 pm

San DelMar, I am free to go south come Friday and/or Saturday hoping it is still nice weather. I am enjoying Pasadena, and things are working out better than I expected.

I have a convertible, a nice new Becker 6' 6" board, and am looking for a wet suit and the address of a good bar in your vicinity. the first couple of rounds on me. Send me a PM if you are available.

Daisy! Rocky! Belly up to the bar and have a tall glass of this Idaho Gold[TM]. Tramp spilled his and Willy doesn't need any more. Jon is just grinning and humming that tune from Casa Blanca.

San's been passed out cold for most of the day. I think he's been drinking more than just Idaho Gold[TM]. It usually doesn't effect him that way.

Petey ran by about twenty minutes ago with a red head in tow or chasing him. I don't know which.

Daisy said Vivi is .... the sweetest skinniest most darling little thing, looks like a tiny deer with huge black eyes. That sounds like Willie when I bailed him out of the jail in Pokie when he came through on that UP I-beam flatcar in January. If he hadn't been full to the gills with anti-freeze he would have had an expired expiration date. :) We found out the yard bulls in Reno gave him those huge black eyes.

Duffush, I wish I wush sho shkinny. *hic*

Hey Rock, I think I'll catch a freight and come out and hang ten with you. I actually went surfing in the Pacific in New Zealand last year. (yes, ya'll can touch me)

The mate I was working with (all the grips eat sushi for lunch in NZ) took me out and squeezed me into one of his wet suits. I hadn't been on a board in about 30 years and I couldn't move my arms. ( Like Ralphie's kid brother in the snow suit in "A Christmas Story"). The surf was pretty big. The board was pretty small.

Needless to say, it wasn't a great outcome. I did manage to get out though.

Tramp did NOT spill his drink. It was Willy that bumped me. Really, it was him. Or maybe it was that Daisy again. She's always looking for swamp whippets.

I missed the whole event. I was "napping" out back by the dumpster. Cooking up chitterlings for you bo's can really wear a fella out. Not to mention we severely violated the taverns fragrance control policy.
