My first thought would be if one party is always right and the other is always wrong, that's an awfully good indication of bias reporting, wouldn't you think. I don't pay any attention whatsoever to any alleged journalist who doesn't at least give me some heartburn once in a while. Any elected official who always makes you happy probably isn't doing his/her job, as the only way to always keep your electorate happy, happy, happy is to pander, pander, pander. As to giving you specific journalists you should pay attention to and others you should not. Why do you need me or anyone else to tell you what to think Murph, you've certainly made it clear here that you feel your education was quite adequate. I would think you would be able to make informed decisions about this sort of thing.

I asked because you spoke with such authority when you said to George, "I think you should widen your sources..." that I thought you had something substantive to back it up, something specific to which I had not paid appropriate attention. But I can see, now, that you were simply up to your not infrequent condescension, correcting and criticizing in public (which unfortunately I just did, ironically, alas, but I had a feeling I just wasn't going to get a straight answer from you, noise but no music.)

And why are we - the USA - sending "truck-loads" (hyperbole) of cash to countries like Iran  , Iraq  , and Afghanistan :? ? Or have I been misinformed and/or insufficiently attentive and focused during the News on TV? (BH: "The crooks in those countries take the money and run.")...

In order, apparently us in our hubris. About 1943. Because neither party has been able to rid itself of the "nation-builders".

You have said something of substance here, IMO, Tom. And if I am understanding you, I would agree with what you have said here; yet, I wonder if there is more to it. Thanks for this feedback.

Maybe I'm just tired of your incessant trolling, I'm going to go with Roger on this one. Goodbye

Oh, I don't stop, that's for sure, taking exception to unnecessarily aggressive and rough treatment of others, never have stopped. But...

Don't go. Just try being attentive to selecting a diplomatic choice of words when criticizing (if you feel you must criticize and speak down to) others. That would be my best unsolicited advice, if I may offer it. People argue all the time; then, they resolve their differences, sometimes learn stuff or viewpoints they hadn't considered, even improving approach and behavior, sometimes, and go forward as adults. Exiting stage-left and slamming the door on future opportunities for mischief and shenanigans and growth is for the theatre.

I have never shrunk away from bullies and have always made a point of challenging them, even as a child. I know it's shocking to be challenged when your are being mean or rough, but challenging rude bullies has been my avocation for a long time, being ever-alert (is that "trolling"?) for such shenanigans.

P.S. Roger stated he was "taking a vacation from all the political stuff on MTJ" which is about conversation(s) going smarkedly political in direction and substance.. Do you actually read, or do you read what you want to see on the page at first-blush? You really don't have to get snotty when advising a forum peer when you feel they are in need of improvement or enlightenment. (I'm trying not to, here, but sometimes ya gotta get pointed, I believe. To say nothing is to approve.)

Frank's trolling?

Oh pulease. Your statement to me was nothing less than condescending, implying that if I were not an out-and-out imbecile at the very least I was a provincial bumpkin.

Then when Murph challenges your statement, the response is some lame, roll-your-own news source or mumble.

Goodbye, indeed.

It looks like the "Invasion of Europe" has taken it;s toll on Angela Merkel.

Merkel to step down as CDU leader
Decision follows heavy losses in state election.

https://www.politico.eu/article/merkel- ... r-reports/

The end of the Angela Merkel era has begun.

The German chancellor declared on Monday she would stand down as leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), after the party suffered heavy losses in a regional election in the state of Hesse.

Merkel said she plans to remain chancellor until her term ends in 2021 but will not run for another term as German leader. But giving up the party post will weaken her authority and reinforce the sense that her long reign is coming to an end. It also raises the prospect that her party, or her coalition partners, could push her out of the chancellery sooner.

Yes, things are changing in Europe. The Italians aren't taking any more immigrants. Now, they're going to Spain.

And that is about to change also. The unemployment rate in Spain is 15.2%

“We have become the fools of Europe now, welcoming anyone who wants to come,” says José Martín, a 34-year old construction worker, in La Línea. “We cannot afford to deal with all this.”

Presently these migrants are all coming from Africa and their goal is to go the Germany or the UK where the handouts are bigger. Spain can't offer enough for them.

Presently there are many in Venezuela that are trying to migrate to Spain as their country is a total mess with socialism and a dictator

Always amazes me that immigrants think it is incumbent of any country to allow them in to better their lifestyle. We have a "Kobayashi Maru" about to unfold at our southern borders.

We have ~100 million voter records available on the internet, Russian, Chinese and Iranian hackers playing with them, a war in Syrian that's somehow been forgotten, another mess in the Ukraine that also been forgotten, an NK nuclear mess that's essentially unchanged, and a long list of other messes both foreign (the Middle East/Saudi Arabia/Afghanistan/Iraq, et.) and domestic (crumbling infrastructure/health care/etc.) to deal with................and what we're really worried about is a few thousand people, many women and children, looking to do jobs that our own citizens won't do....

Yup. We've got our priorities screwed on right.

Take a break, Rufus! Most of us are already well versed in the Democratic Talking Points. That caravan, and the two that are forming behind it, would cost us untold billions in taxpayer dollars. Are you one of the ones who think we don't pay enough in taxes?

What’s a few billion when Trumpie’s and my fellow Republicans’ 2018 tax cut is projected to cost 1.7 trillion? Remember, the bottom 50% pays just 3% of Federal taxes. Just sayin’...

Show me where they cost billions - that's totally made up BS. 6000 times yourself isn't billions.

I pay more taxes than most people earn in a year and I didn't get any so-called BS tax cut either.
