Cool Myron. Is the looper spider there 24 hours a day like the garden spider I pictured? Some of these orb weavers eat their web every morning and hide out during the day, recycling the web material to build a new web every night.

It is truly amazing what one can discover when one takes time
to 'stop and smell the roses' (or cactii blooms, ... my favorites!).

Looper is a name I gave her, not her true name. Perhaps you can help identify, ???

She was discovered in my sister's garden amongst the tomatoe plants.
I did not realise that was what she was doing until I went thru my pics.

Here's another shot of her back on duty, a day or two later.
Some web damage is evident.

My sister tore down her 'home' yesterday.

I have a hard time identifying spiders. Even the "Spider Lady" at the desert museum calls all garden orb weaving spiders, "Garden Spiders." You would probably be safe calling it an Araneidae spider. Most of the orb weavers are in the Araneidae family.

Wikipedia says, "The orb-weavers include over 10,000 species." Which ones we pictured, I don't know. Bill comes closer to identifying his spider as Argiope, yellow and black. There are only 75 species of Argiope discovered so far.

About the lost MTJ posts, I suspect Myron's sister destroyed one of the internet orbs containing our posts. Let's hope she doesn't discover the location of the Great Orb of the Internet. She might take the whole WEB down.

While I think her actions were NOT directly responsible,
I have been long on the belief that there is 'Something' that connects us all together.

Myron's sister better be careful when she goes walking around that area.

Spiders are OK by my sister, Ruth, as long as they are not inside the house.
Then, if possible, they'll get escorted safely back outside.
She realises their benefits, too.
Survival rate inside is slim, w/ 2 dogs, 2 cats, a bird, plus her,
...one of the cats is an excellent fly catcher.

I asked her about the above spider, she said she didn't know about it and asked to see it.
She related to me that last year, she had one that stayed in her garden all summer.

Bloody odd.

The spider photos show just fine and proper on my desktop, but are switched off with photos of a loco build and some scenes on a model railway when viewed on my tablet.

Looks like there are still server issues here at MTJ...

I don't think that your issues are a fault of MTJ or servers,
as you state they are viewable on one device and not another.

If they had been amongst the disappeared files, they would not be viewable with any device.

An exception would be if the files were 'cached', then they would remain visible,
because 'default' settings on most browsers make them check the cache
before going out on the internet to load a page or image.

This may be what's happening w/your computer & tablet.

Some other reasons (from many) why image files are visible on a 'computer' and not on a 'tablet' include,
Different 'Operating Systems'.
Images too large.
Browser/viewer/O.S. incompatible w/Image file format. (or needs:)
Missing 'metadata' from files.

(I strip this info from all files posted by me because,
it reduces file size,
does NOT reduce image quality
it's NOT necessary for posting on the 'web',
and in some cases discloses 'sensitive' personal information.)

I know a little more than average about PC's (& hardware) from DOS thru XP into Vista,
but know NOTHING about 'tablets' except Micro$oft & others have been trying to popularise them for over 30 years.

Charlie was having a problem with switched images on his computer. I think he fixed it with Holy Water.

I just checked my Note 3 phone and the images are the same as on PC.

The easy solution is to not use the tablet for MTJ.

This is the only site I've visited that shows those issues. An evening's casting about and I can get into everything I tried flawlessly, except here.

It isn't cache-default on the PC that gives correct views; cleared all the cookies and cache and still routes to images correctly on the PC using a cleared cache.

They only became apparent after the crash, or whatever we witnessed without knowing what happened. I wonder if it was an upgrade/update gone bad...

Anyway, it looks like the issue is the routing to server-held images is corrupt for some devices.

Until we hear some sort of explanation from Bill or the site maintainers, I'm loathe to use MTJ for much beyond what I have done here. It isn't clear to me what is still perhaps corrupted and what isn't.

"Holy Water" tells me nothing useful.
