Made a good mess of the black locust across from it, too.

Reminds me of a Justin Wilson story regarding the culinary habits of the Cajuns:

A Louisiana state trooper is driving down a back road and see's a young boy walking along the road's edge with a dead chicken-hawk slung over his shoulder. He pulls up along-side the youngster and calls out the window.

"Hey boy, what you aimin' to do with that chicken-hawk you got there?"

"I'm taking him up to the house and I'm going to eat him," the kid says as he keeps walking.

The cop curls up his face in disgust.

"Good God," he says. "What does chicken-hawk taste like?"

The boy thinks for a moment.

"About the same as owl."

If NASA paid more than $0.50 for the camera that took this photo, they were ripped off big time. [opinion]

Cost: 50¢

On the first day, NASA used tiny cameras designed to spot hazards in front of Curiosity's wheels — mostly showing nearby gravel and shadows, but also hints of the vistas beyond.

Roger,

Medium. I'll measure one tomorrow and let you know. Right now I am guessing two inches.

Wayne,

That's close enough.You don't need to measure.
I remember some others that you posted that looked big but were very small.
Beautiful photo.

Years ago I worked with a British engineer who was a motorcycle fanatic. One of his favorite stories was of his trip to the Isle of Man to watch the 1957 Tourist Trophy race. Bob McIntyre turned the first "ton" (100 mph lap) at that race. In those days there were stone pillars on the inside of some of the curves and my friend swore that McIntyre leaned the bike into the curves so closely that he had to lift his head as he passed each of those pillars.

Thanks for posting that video.
