Yes.I don't see a train.
Jon may still be in training or on his way to Afghanistan or have just a little time at home.
Be safe Jon and all.

Nice looking fields and all, Hev, reminds me of home. I can withstand living in NYC but I'd rather have open countryside around me.
Re: Hobo Jungle
D and I managed to get (cut, saw) our tree today. Things have changed! Why must rituals you bank on change? I know, I know, but I just don't want to accept these alter-altering-cations. And I use that word with intent. But we continue with the Christmas spirit. Tree story to follow. Drink up! Trim and be merry. As the gods say, "It's only once a year."

This tale I just gotta hear, esp. since I eliminated (reluctantly & w/ some regret) my driving 60 mi. in a breezy pickup truck w/ a neighbor into Pennsylvania, to a tree farm to cut the tree down myself, requiring my doing a belly-flop (some of you can picture this w/ ease, I have no doubt

Re: Hobo Jungle
I live for Tramp's Christmas story every year, same as I live for his free-range turkey storys every Thanksgiving.
I dearly miss, however, his mother's yearly contributions to the tales.
We're going for our tree on this weekend. The tree-farmer loves seeing the Farmall and wagon chug over his fields to his parking area. The kids, of course, love the hot chocolate and shortbread cookies. Me, I love hanging my cold fat *** by the bonfire. Waiting this late in the season gets the kids popping and fizzing with excitement. I'm going to sorely miss this when they are grown. All things must pass.
Tramp, it went out in the mail mid-afternoon.
Slightly brown on the corners, but nicely done in the middle.

Re: Hobo Jungle
Don't worry Dirt Man. We can go tree haulin' drinkin' some warm hard cider and singin' Christmas carols while drivin' the Farmall thru the pines. I can see it now...................

Re: Hobo Jungle
Sounds like some major fun, bro!! Never had any hard cider, but I sure could use some now. I've been burning the candle at both ends!
Did you see my youtube Farmallinthepinesvid? We can throw an ol' stuffed loveseat in the wagon, and I'll take you and Patty over the river and through the woods (on my redneck limousine!
)!
Your card's on the way too. I was running late, so I had to put them in the oven to dry the ink out quicker, so I could get them in the dang mail. See if you recognize the babe on the cover.
Got yours today.
Way cool!!
Thanks!

Re: Hobo Jungle
The first visual installment of the tree story.
The raw monster in place. This was one heavy tree. Only Hev would not have struggled carrying it solo into the house. At first it would not pass through the poolroom door. But it's in and smells heavenly, though I've never smelled heaven, though everyone can imagine what it might smell like.
