Daisy and Tramp, may your train have a tank and a coal bin that never go empty, may your peaceful minds allow you the untroubled sleep of all the nuns of St. Cyrils and the Pope himself, may your passion leave you gasping with satisfaction, may your 90-degree rail-shots unfailingly kiss the bottom of the corner pocket, may you laugh with each other every day until you can barely breathe, and may your love utterly fail at finding limit or boundary.

From me, the Redhead, and all our kiddies, congratulations, and long may you reign! 8)

Tramp,

Might be your most excellent article yet.

"It's insatiably wanting more that creates certain discontent."

I figured that out maybe 46 years ago. What a revelation! Happiness is a state of mind. It is in your head.

I used to get upset when I got into the shortest line at the grocer or bank and watched everyone in the long lines get waited on and walk out the door. Sometimes those long lines would turn over three times before I got waited on.

Then I realized that unhappy was a state of mind created by the individual. I was the one making myself unhappy about the slow lines. I decided to be happy with slow lines. The next time I was in the market I found the longest line, picked up a magazine (out here they place magazines at the check-out stand) and went back to the end of the line. I only had time to look at a few pictures and captions before I was up front. Put the magazine back in the rack and checked out.

I don't bother to pick up a magazine anymore, I find that if I am happy with my line it turns out to be a fast one. Life in the fast line is wonderful.

Just thought I would drop by after a long time away. It has been a exciting time off full of change and unexpected good fortune. I have been wrapped up with the kids and finally worked out getting one to college next year on a DIV 1 scholarship. :D Yeah I'm a little proud and at the same time stunned. Now maybe I can start back into the trains later this year.

I hope everyone is going to have a great of a Thanksgiving as we are because there is even more great news headed our way this year into next year.

It's a frosty morning down here in rebel country. The sausage stuffing, candied yams, and string bean casserole in the oven are filling the house with a grand aroma! football is around the corner as well as a couple of special hobo tin cups that will be baptized with bourbon by the fire place later in the day. Happy Thanksgiving all!!!

Pete, thanks for that lovely toast. I was relieved to see the abridged version this morning, not that I didn't find the long rendition very touching. That was some pool shot, wasn't it? I don't try those anymore.

Wayne, you picked out one of my favorite sentences. The thing about true acceptance is, I can't manage it unless I'm high as a lake trout swimming up a salmon stream.

San, I'm glad the dog approves. Nothing like getting the canine vote.

Jon, are you brining? When is the beverage cart coming through today? I'm brined, air dried and thirsty.

Andre, a few Belfast cops asked me if I knew you. I wonder why that is?

Roger, Beer! is my answer to your question.

Here's wishing the rest of you Jungle hobos a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Tramp, I'll brine a turkey for the Christmas dinner. Todays turkey was smoked for me by the country store around the corner.
I find this interesting.... A few months back I was in a bit of a lull over my enjoyment of the hobby anymore. So I contacted a well known buyer and seller of trains. As my attitude concerning the hobby had an upswing I still continued to receive emails from the buyers asking for an inventory of what was for sale. So just for the hell of it I sent them a list of just my 3rd Rail/Sunset models:
PRR Q-1 (un-steamlined version

PRR T-1 Duplex (un-streamlined version)

PRR M1a Mountain

PRR K-4 (postwar version)

PRR Atlantic 4-4-2

NYC J1a Hudson

NYC J3a Super Hudson

NYC Dreyfuss

NYC Empire State Express Hudson

NYC Niagara

Erie 0-8-8-0 Angus Camelback

Virginian Allegheny

Northern Pacific Challenger

UP Challenger (early version)

UP BigBoy (Anniversary Edition)

UP 4-12-2

UP 2-10-4

UP 4-8-4

Funny, it's been a couple of weeks now with no response from the buyers. Makes you wonder whats up?

Tramp, the beverage cart will run through around noon today, loaded down with some bag wine, Sam Adams, and Evan Williams bourbon.
