We're thrilled for your dad. Bet that threw a scare into everybody!

I haven't worked a surgical floor in more than 22 years. Much has changed since then, needless to say. Out of bed the day after a fracture repair and a long incision? Pretty much the standard, all things considered.

Then there's the tough old birds. C-sections used to stay in the hospital for 10-12 days. The Redhead got herself out of bed the next morning to get into the bathroom, without calling for some help, and was home the following day, not because the doctor was necessarily willing, but because he had met his match, and discharged her in his own defense.

Yep. And you ever get the feeling people aren't telling you everything because you are out of town working? I must admit that hospitals are not my favorite place since my mom passed. But I talked to my brothers wife and his BP was low and he was very sore today. I guess it's to be expected but I know it scares me.

I think mainly because I was out of town when my sister about 8 years back had a major heart attack due to complications of being diabetic. She was finally doing well and sent to a rehab facility. Well I was out of town when she passed away and I never really got to say good bye. The entire family was there except me. I guess that's what scares me the most even though this is probably nothing that serious, it still is the back of my mind.

Anyways I just spoke to him. A quick 45 second phone call. He didn't seem too bad but seemed rushed to get off the phone. Maybe something good was on TV.

Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers. You guys are the best!

You're the best too, Marty. Your Dad ought to be proud.

The entire family was there except me.

The A#1 reason why I'd never want a job 'on the road'. I was just talking to Hev about this today, about when he decided to get off the road.

He didn't seem too bad but seemed rushed to get off the phone. Maybe something good was on TV.

LOL!
More likely, the cute-babe nurse with the killer... Umm... smile!, had just arrived to do his bed-bath!

We have a bunch of fools in this area that get all excited everytime it gets cold and hope that it snows.I have a son that lives in New York and thinks it is too hot down here in Georgia, except in the winter.I do NOT miss snow and cold weather.Left Ohio in 1969.

Great news Marty. I have had a lot of thoughts about the passing of loved ones and being away. It happened to me.

Hev, is that from the camera or your mind? Do you have a USB port or a removable flash memory? For your mind?

Here it is summer like, but we are hoping for much needed rain in the coming week. The terminator is bleating about water rationing, now that he has finished this round of taxing every thing. I am sure he will find a way to "price it". Received $185 bill from City of San Diego on Friday on rental property. No services rendered, nada. You rent property? You pay it. Business tax. Gaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! State is going to do similar "fee". Getting ready for a San Diego tea party.

Marty E

Great news...glad our prayers helped.

Hev:

Sent for the engine. Thanks for all your help.

A local hobby shop wanted $175.00 plus my old engine in trade and it depended what shape my old engine was in about the price...I think he is going to keep it...a brand new one from the Lionel catalog was only $109.00...RIGHT!.

Yes a Lionel starter set engine 4+4+2 I need to replace for my Wife's Christmas train, I was trying to just find an engine only so I could swap out the guts but keep the Christmas engines body, so I didn't care what road name the engine was, just needed the holes to match up. A local hobby shop that I go to once in a while said he had one and he wanted $175.00 PLUS mine swapped and depending on the condition of mine it might be more. I checked the new Lionel catalog and a 4+4+2 engine and tender by its self is $109.00...(of course with no swap). I don't think I will be doing much business with the local guy...I thought he might be more but not that much more. I am getting the engine alone for $52.95 from Scranton Pa. That includes shipping and tax too.
