Re: PRR 2026

I think 60" is O Scale's rock bottom minimum. You can get a 72" Pacific around that, and maybe 70 foot passenger cars. Speaking of passenger cars, I guess I am wealthy - used K-Line 21" cars seem to be selling for $250 and up. I may have 30 of them. And back to PRR - a Max Gray M1 is ...

Re: Carey's recent acquisitions

I have been sucked in to AI. This is from Apple's version, which comes up with aviation and legal stuff that blows me away. No way to tell how accurate it is, but we did a takeoff analysis using charts, and AI duplicated it in about a second. I did not ask about the SP 0-6-0 - it probably would use ...

Re: SP Mountains of 1936

And since I am doing the stills, I think I shall add my Lobaugh Mountains. Here's one: https://uniim1.shutterfly.com/render/00-PNsoTmjg5ERwYdyJK2nnTU4PbJCADm4kNk3Vd5RrK2QEelQSOWdzny-9UfnuVBQj5cYdfB3jRoL_VZILaXEufg?cn=THISLIFE&res=medium&ts=1662100756&ts=1662100757 That is a Max Gray tend...

Re: Carey's recent acquisitions

Dan Henon told me Pratt did both the SP and the PRR - vastly different construction, of course. I could be convinced otherwise, but I argued with Dan, and he convinced me that Lobaugh bought the tooling for the SP from Pratt. I have no other information.

Re: SP Mountains of 1936

I guess I should put Carey's Mountains here, instead of the Carey thread below. My notes: I have four Lobaugh Mountains, and one Scale Craft Mountain, thanks to Allan and Maroon. I think I agree that the Lobaugh is the rarer of the two, but they exist. There may be some boiler differences, but the m...

That link goes to your Pratt B6. But it is a nice video - captures a mood.

Re: PRR 2026

The only models here with blind drivers are one Saginaw H10 and the Scale Craft SP Mountain. The Saginaw is among a fleet of about five in various stages of recovery, including two CLW that are essentially complete, and I am having a hard time getting to them. The Scale Craft came home last year for...

Re: Tank Cars

Originally it was not clear to me what this was, and I have refrained from messing with it or its paint/decal. But it became clear at some point that it was a prewar Lobaugh 12,000 gal tank. It is one of my favorites, and I would easily trade a pristine 8000 gal prewar kit for another one of these: ...

Re: Carey's recent acquisitions

I have no idea how I missed Dennis' Thursday post - his "Back-up Malley." I just saw it 30 minutes ago. Words cannot express my feelings for that model. You have of course seen my model of the compound version - I will get a link: here it is - about 7 frames down: https://www.modeltrainjou...

From the legend at the bottom, I am the only member here right now, but there are between 83 and 125 guests here as well. Are they all bots, or do we think these are folks who would like to join but cannot, for some reason?

Re: Carey's recent acquisitions

I am kinda waiting for some expression of interest or some descriptions of these things from Carey before I post the rest of them - but in the meantime, here is a photo of the underside of the above two 0-6-0s. This photo will only appeal to those of us both mechanically inclined and interested in t...

Re: PRR 2026

Rookie, huh? You have more doorstops than do I. By a long shot! This week it is time for my Decapod. I am quite proud of this thing; it started out pretty ugly, but then morphed into a very nice model. https://uniim1.shutterfly.com/render/00-PNsoTmjg5ERwYdyJK2nnTU4PbJCADm4kNk3Vd5RrK2QRId64q09JK1tPU9...

Re: Carey's recent acquisitions

I think CloudConnect worked. It sends the modified photo to Downloads, but then I just hit "save as" and apparently it worked. Yes, Kingston Trio. Yes, I expect a nuke within the year, either in Ukraine or Iran. No, it will not affect me very much, since I am within months of my family's h...

Re: Carey's recent acquisitions

We tried to re-do the file extension. Wouldn't take it. I am considering using one of the available conversion sites, but with Windows 11 it seems too easy to get bugs. They have to keep improving stuff that used to work. Otherwise they wouldn't have jobs. Even Shutterfly is changing stuff - you can...

Re: Carey's recent acquisitions

Turns out that an update on my computer transfers jpeg images into jfif, automatically. It is not supposed to do that, and it didn't, until a recent update. So unfortunately, Shutterfly expects jpeg, and when I try to give it jfif images, it simply indicates " up yours, buddy." Well, not r...
