Re: September/October 2019 The O Scale Resource Magazine is Ready
Thanks for the kind words, Bob. (I told him to say that.) No one thing works best for everyone, but I like the download to a PDF file option; you can then read it off line by just scrolling through it, and you don't need to save it if your computer space is limited. Or save it to a thumb drive. Dan ...

Re: For Carey Williams - some O3R history
Dave - Mainly information on what they expect to do. Since they have not yet found a place to move, it seems they won't be able to. From a historical preservation standpoint, is there a way to keep the trains and any paper records together? Beyond that, close up pictures of any equipment and structu...

Re: The Erie-Built
Bob - I have been following along. Your ideas on casting E7 sides sound neat. If you end up doing something to cast accurate FM steps, I, and probably others, would be interested in a few. I'd also be interested if you find a source for some and they don't look delicate.

Re: The Erie-Built
It looks great Bob; thanks for describing your methods. On the steps, would you want door stop steps, and if so, how many?

Re: Ideas on the 4 truck flatcar... Auel perhaps?
I agree with Rufus, Auel was cast in Zamac, I have several kits and perhaps a built one. I also have others that are cast aluminum but none match Carey’s. All the usual cast aluminum suspects would have used more detailed castings.

Re: Westbrook
Their Feb 1950 ad in MR showed their address as Hasbrouck Heights NJ as did prior ads. Their Mar 1950 ad in MR said “Subsidiary of Bob Peare Engineering Co." and showed an address in Clifton, NJ. The kits were sold as a body kit, and separately they offered a hardware kit, that had the underfra...

Re: Westbrook
I have a copy of a 1933 catalog that says "More than four years ago we originated, developed and offered to model railroad builders, the FIRST freight car kits with the side and end panels Painted and Lettered, .....". Based on that, they started in 1929, or perhaps a little earlier. I don...

Re: Those darn imports...1936
I have some really early Japanese made engines, but they didn't date them so I don't know if they are pre-war; I expect not. I guess I missed Charlie's comments, but anyway, I bought them about 15 years ago. Charlie's comments are in his regular column called Plain Talk on page 50 of the 11/36 issue...

Hey, Jay, that works for me. But.... Glory be! the Jan/Feb issue came today. And as I promised, all are notified. Now I have a matched set! As nobody other than Rufus has fessed up, I can only figure that he and are the only ones on this journal that have it. And it's the best issue since sliced bre...

Re: Druck trolley 17/64ths
Dave - Wow! The trolley looks great. Thanks very much for speaking up and posting pictures. He spelled his name Grzywna. I have one, but only one, of his kits. I'll take pictures and post them. They don't show up in central Texas, so I must have gotten it online or at a show. Do you go to any of the...
