Been slammed at work. I still need to play around with the flat. Hopefully in the next few days I can get back on it.

Re: F-22 Flatcar And 3D Printing

I'm far from done but I imagine the price wont go up too much more when I add the details. I'll need the dimensions for the Kadee boxes you're going to use and trucks. I'd rather just make the coupler box in the model ( as it should be).. and make it so you can mount a Kadee # (whatever) in there. I...

Re: F-22 Flatcar And 3D Printing

They can print it in full as well. This would save you some of the handling charges involved too.

Re: F-22 Flatcar And 3D Printing

I had a chance to screw around with this F-22 for a few after work....just a test but its scaled from the PRR F-22 drawings I found online. Still would need to add a bolster, an accurate place to mount a Kadee Box, and all the rivets, stake pockets, etc. I was just curious how much a half would cost....

Re: F-22 Flatcar And 3D Printing

I wouldn't dare guess a price yet. Are you in a hurry? Another question to ask is the visible layering on printed models, Is that acceptable to you?

Re: F-22 Flatcar And 3D Printing

ok I played around for a second on this flat. there's a few issues. Just scaling it down leads to some parts being too thin to print. I can't edit his file so I cant "fix" some of the issues, including the truck and coupler mountings. I searched and dl'ed a PRR drawing with basic dimension...

Re: F-22 Flatcar And 3D Printing

I'll see what I can do. The mounting screws and coupler mounts will need to be adjusted among a few other things I suspect. I'll get back to ya.

Re: F-22 Flatcar And 3D Printing

I do a lot of 3D work and printing for my P48 needs and occasionally offer my time to others. Usually for trade instead of $$. I can take a look if you cant find anyone and Im pretty familiar with shapeways as its all I use currently.
