Re: Ebay

I had an odd interaction with a seller on eBay a couple of months ago. I noticed he had a number of locomotives for sale (buy it now) and his shipping cost was $180. I wrote and asked him if this was a misprint. He asked what I meant. I pointed out he had one locomotive with a shipping cost of $60. ...

Re: OGR

I had mixed results there. Most posts were ignored. I did post a tutorial about how to match LEDs with resistors that received over 40 replies thanking me for "de-mystifying" this subject. Not one negative comment. I was very surprised at that result. I decided to see if there was any inte...

OGR

I occasionally post on and read the 2 rail section of OGR. I went to sign in and was having a problem. Tried again and got a message that “only digital members” may post!!!!! When did this happen? Good bye OGR! I’ll be damned if I want to pay to share my thoughts and information.

Re: "Runs great"…….hmmmmm

Seems a lot of you have sharper eyes than me, though. I only post these to be humorous, E7. As to the Beaver Creek cars, they are beautifully made, full interiors, great trucks. I sold a three car unpainted set for a grand, if I remember right. 2400 for 8 cars is on the high end but not ridiculous! ...

This is a bit presumptuous I believe!

@BobTurner,

I agree 100%. One of the reasons I don’t post much anymore. Time spent reading and posting to forums is time away from actual building and modeling.

Re: Why isn't O Scale 2-Rail more popular with model railroaders?

Being "too hard" is what appeals to me! To get the locomotives I wanted I had to learn how to deal with 2nd hand brass. This included getting them running well, often changing motors and drive lines. Painting and lettering them (many re-strips and re-paints) Installing decoders and LED lig...

Another "rare" Bill Lenoir………..

………(designed) model is for sale on the "BAY"!! I’ve said before I’m not that familiar with the early O scale stuff, but this ad caught my BS meter! https://www.ebay.com/itm/CENTRAL-LOCOMOTIVE-WORKS-H-10-1941-very-rare-2-rail-designed-by-bill-lenoir-/124945946877?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_t...

Re: Roger Roush

Indeed sad news. I will miss “Rogruth”. While he was a 3 rail modeler he appreciated all facets of O scale and always had a kind word to say to everyone. I thought of him as the “wise old man of reason and knowledge” of our forum. My condolences to the family.

Actually I just re-read UP148’s post and he used one and commented on its “finickyness”. Sorry UP I missed that.

Re: Midwestern Model Works Redux

Hey Rich, Kadee had one but folks I’ve talked to said the time you saved using it you lost in tinkering around with the adjustments for the ohmph of the drive. Too much and you squashed the rail into the tie and too little the spikes were loose. Getting it “just right” required constant adjustment. ...

Re: Midwestern Model Works Redux

In my second "post" I detailed how I used 3/32 thick balsa glued to the underside of the PCB ties which in turn were glued to the road bed. I then glued a wood tie to the roadbed equidistant from the PCB ties. These are the only ties I spike. There is about 1 3/4 of an inch between this sp...
