Persistence pays! I won a seat on borough council!

Congratulations on a successful campaign. The march to the Oval Office has to start somewhere!

Congratulations, and I sympathize with you concerning the can of worms about to be opened.

Re: Weekend Photos - November 2025

I like the cut of that little tank engine...looks like something The Old Man might have built from one of those HO Mantua kits from the 1950s. I think that is exactly what it is. Whoever put it together put the crosshead guides in the wrong spot and soldered them to the guide beam. https://live.sta...

Re: Weekend Photos - November 2025

Tag. The O gauge engine caught up with the HO gauge engine and knocked it over on the track, causing a short circuit, which is why the O gauge engine's cab light went out at the end of the video.

That tree tunnel is getting more interesting.

Re: Weekend Photos - November 2025

Yes, model train club OPS can be interesting. I once observed the HO club's operations in Balboa Park, San Diego. They had a major train wreck that night due to a malfunction with their headphone and microphone system. Just like a real railroad, failure of one part of the operation can result in dis...

Re: So, you think Gemini is just a search engine?

I find it interesting, the headlong flight to AI, a tech that will likely kill all of us, either directly or indirectly. Quote from Dean McLaughlin's epigraph at the start of HAWK AMONG THE SPARROWS . "When we look at the spectacle of weapons growing ever bigger and more effective and fearsome...

sarge wrote:Wayne, I think you'd learn more if you stopped trying to sell us on this shit and spent that time building the boxcar kit, instead.

I agree. I was afraid to build the kit because I had seen so many horrible results.
Now that Gemini has improved the instructions, I have the urge to give it a go.

Re: So, you think Gemini is just a search engine?

Take Robert as an example: A problem with AI is. It’s not smart. AI will use wrong or fake answers to gather info. By scanning the internet If we started to say “ use 40LBS 1,2,3 blocks to square up you boxcar projects”. AI would start telling people “ use 40lbs 1,2,3 blocks” Robert knew that a 40 ...

Here is a photo with no bokeh.

The dust on the engine and track is not real. I have never seen photo stacking do that before.
