Re: Mongrel Mogul, Suburban, and maybe other Lobaugh Oddities

[quote="bob turner" The tender trucks are Kemtron Wabash - arguably the best arch bar tender trucks in any scale! They came in a kit, but I had to make new bolsters. I may be sorry I did not loctite the tiny bolster screws in place - homework assignment for Jim. That's it, unless a Rock Is...

Re: DFW Portable Layouts -- Mainline and Traction

Recently the DFW O Scalers have been busy working on many scenery projects. One eye catching project was installing working “ grass hopper” oil pump jacks. These were buried in the foam layout deck. Then Maroon wired them up to a power supply. The effect when these are running is really neat to see....

The completed car looks really good and is quite the improvement over what you started with.

Re: From the Firefly Shops.........

Dear Dr. Firefly, Have you any progress to report on the Baldwin B1 locomotive? Semi-locally to me the Tulsa-Sapulpa Union interurban ran one of the B1 variants. They had an attractive paint scheme. https://storage.googleapis.com/hippostcard/p/1b90bb8020ce31c033bf0c47bda2b994.jpg P. Randall

Re: Standard Gauge Model of a Narrow Gauge D&RGW K-28

I Saw that on EBay. There were other models in the collection that appeared to be early Japanese brass. The auction description stated that the original purchaser was stationed in Japan in the military. I wonder if this model was one built from plans submitted by the original purchaser by one of the...

Re: Mongrel Mogul

Is this a Mongrel Mogul? I saw this at George Kanary’s layout on the Chicago meet layout tours. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/to26akqvwbfm071vtugtd/Photo-Mar-19-2026-8-05-54-PM.jpg?rlkey=gr741xzno7yd704taxexz46bd&st=kh8ls0e1&raw=1 I thought this was a good looking mogul at the Illinois Rail...

Re: Moraga rebuild

Really a great rebuild here. I’ve been following along and have garnered quite a few ideas for the interiors of my models. Just watched the bobber caboose video last night. I have one of the Train Craft bobbers in my pile to build. I really like bobber cabooses and have too many. Maybe we should do ...

I realized just now that I shared a different video than I meant too . Here is the video from The Denver O scale national show. But the Yakima Valley line car isn’t in this video. Lol o boy. Any way there is a different line car in this video. Many of the cars are the same as in the first video. Tak...

Re: sharks!

Good shark discussion. The doorstop locomotives are interesting but not always easy to find.I have been wondering about other modeling options for these unique Baldwins. I seem to remember ROW and Williams making these in three rail. Were they even full scale size? I’ve never seen one in real life.H...
