Back to the performance issues - the OMI Hia 4-4-2 Loco and a half dozen cars were my first major investment in O scale 25 or so years ago. All excited I got the loco and cars running, and after 10 minutes the loco slowed down, and then came to a stop. Teardown revealed that the tiny motors' bearing...

Dan, sorry to hear that you didn't win the Corbin Mike, it certainly was a great "deal".
The Rock Island Pacific does not appear to have a NWSL gearbox, so as the other choice is a lobaugh gearbox, someone out there must have an extra lobaugh worm gear for the lucky buyer.

I believe it is easier to bid in person than on line ( I was watching the Corbin Mike, and probably would have chased it a little if I was on site (Dan, did you win the Corbin Mike ?)).
And whoever won the Rock Island Pacific (Lobaugh chassis, Mr. Turner ?) has a nice looking locomotive.
