Re: Pillars of Smoke in the Sky

I have that DVD. It has been a good while since I have watched it, but, I don't remember the audio being so out of sync with the video being shown! There are some inaccuracies with the narration, but, no sense in going into them at this point. The entire program is a very valuable piece of filmwork ...

Re: Locked out of logging in!

I think that I did all that to no avail.
I am accessing the forum now only through my tablet. Should I try changing my password here on my tablet in the hope that will in turn work on my desktop? I don't want to get locked out all around!

Is there anyone out there that can help me with logging in on my desktop computer? I get the following message and nothing seems to work.

Need help logging in

For some reason I have been locked out of this forum on my desktop computer. I have tried many times to log in to no avail. Attempts to notify an administrator have gone unanswered. Now, the only thing that I can get is shown below. Reading it seems a bit harsh!

The backhead is completely wrong. No Duplex stokers on a Y6b.

Re: Tools of the trade

So, yes, I must stand corrected in that, by definition, I used the wrong word. My mistake and shame on me for assuming people would know what I was speaking of...which is, the Wowstick must use a drill with a 2.35mm shank. You cannot use anything other than that size. Your #80 drill bit will not fit...

Re: Tools of the trade

Thanks for sharing on that wowstick. It's a shame you're stuck using their proprietary bits though, so that's a no go for me. Does the Wowstick require using proprietary drill bits or will any brand work? No, the Wowstick does not use proprietary drill bits. It uses the very common 2.35 mm bits (an...

Re: Tools of the trade

Mostly, I use a pin vise, but, I do use a conventional Dremel Tool with an old power control that lets me turn down the revs to a point where it doesn't melt the plastic when drilling. I found variable speed tools worthless in this as their slowest speed is still too fast. I did find one exception i...

Re: Mercedes of Steam

Chris, That is too bad about the 1211 crossheads. I did send a message to Ryan long ago about which engines did and did not have the multiple bearing crossheads and which ones had the roller bearing rods. He did respond to me that they would get them right. Oh well, all one can do is try. You mentio...

Re: Seen in Print

If you had watched the program on PBS about the making of the recording "Classic Quadrophenia", you would have heard Pete Townshend say that "Quadrophenia" (the original) was not about four channel sound at all. It was about the boy suffering from an affliction similar to being &...
