Re: Atlantics 2023

[quote="bob turner"]And happily (?) we have finished Atlantics, and this thread can go wild. My only lament is that so few of us have photos of Atlantics to share. [quote] The only Atlantic(s) :D I have are both 3 rail; one early '90s Lionel and Williams brass, so there's probably no inter...

Re: Standard Gauge stuff

Nice piece...

I've dabbled in Standard Gauge a little; is there a "safe" way to straighten a bent coupler (like your caboose has) without snapping it off?

Re: Builder's Mark

I received an email from a fellow who has helped me out in some of my projects; very much like "our own" Bob Turner. Anyway, he is not a member of this group, but asked me to relay the info that the "triangle" builder's plate was typically used by Jerry White...he included a shor...

Re: eBay, OGR and the Like...

Could that hopper be an Arvid Anderson (..sen?)? I once found a complete rtr ERIE one at a show for $15.00; it was in a Weaver ERIE box in amongst a bunch of other $15.00 Weaver hoppers. I'm not sure, but I don't think it's Anderson: I have one of those, and the truck bolsters are soldered brass; t...

Re: eBay, OGR and the Like...

With that in mind, this is what I'm currently working on: ...unknown brass hopper and a Scale Craft flat. Watcha' doin' to them? The flat car was lacking trucks, couplers and the brake wheel. For that, I'm simply making it operational and will leave the original finish as is. The hopper need some s...

eBay, OGR and the Like...

I might get banished for asking this; but why is there so much discussion in this forum (2 rail) regarding eBay and the O Gauge Railroading forum? It seems to me that those types of talking points should be in the "crew lounge", no? :?: If you don't like either of those sites, just ignore ...

Yup. If I can find those as archbars, well worth it at that price.

I have a pair of the newer plastic ones; if you're interested, they're yours.

Not trying to be rude/nasty, but what were you expecting for $4.15? Hmm..I guess I wasn't clear. No, you were clear.... Seems like eBay is often a target here, so I thought I'd look at it from a different perspective. Although the item was not "as advertised", I am still happy with the pu...

Ebay: "Life is like a Box of Chocolates"...

...you just never know. Let me begin by saying eBay has supplied me with 90-95% of all my train stuff; 90-95% of the time, I have received exactly what I was expecting. There have been the occasional "hic-ups", but never anything I couldn't either fix myself or get a refund. Case in point:...
