Train of Tomorrow door stop models

Hoping to get some information on this model. Below are some guesses by the owner and others. The Scale Models Inc. ads talk about bronze castings and punched copper sides. But for all I know, they might have an earlier version they sold. Diesel Model Co., which seems sold by Dallas Modelcraft, used...

Re: At the Tower

GREAT PHOTO! Staged like no other I've seen. That OMI 350 ton coal tower looks outstanding. It just looks so real.

Re: Night Running on the CB&Q

I agree with Dan, awesome education. Well, the E5's are done and I think my friend has done a great job. Installed straight with good spacing and the grabs are glued on with glue that doesn't ruin the paint so it they are removable. Job well done! https://uniim1.shutterfly.com/render/00-4Kof0r-55rlq...

Re: Night Running on the CB&Q

GREAT images and outstanding information Erik. Wow! I'll put them in a folder on my computer and that way when I forget this info in a few years, it's available so I can relearn. :D I remember these images from years ago, but not sure where I saw them and didn't keep copies. I actually sent my frien...

Re: Night Running on the CB&Q

My staff consisted of 3 individuals: Me, Myself, I; two of who were dubious at best and third being a completely dodgy geezer. Your statement may just gain a life of its own.....it's great! I will be using it going forward. I never knew you were the "show" after Whiteriver bought the maga...

Re: Night Running on the CB&Q

Thanks Erik, as usual, you've gone above and beyond with your answer. Politics, regardless where you find them, can really dampen enthusiasm for fair behavior.

Maybe Martin or Brian can shed some light on this decision? I've heard Joe could be a pill sometimes.

Re: Night Running on the CB&Q

Erik, my friend has asked some more questions. One being if you know of any spare parts available for these models which I feel is a lost cause, but one item maybe not. The red stripe models have the E5 emblem/decal on the sides, yet the black stripe did not. Do you know of a source to procure these...

No, that's real metal - Builders-in-Scale. Several sizes used to be available in raised seam and corrugated; also in copper...

Fitted and glued into place and painted Flat Aluminum.

Sorry, somehow I missed your reply. Pretty amazing material and something I didn't know existed. Looks great!

Re: Look what I am missing!

That looks fantastic. The way the builder incorporated the background and the foreground is very convincing. Tons of interesting modeling in a small area.

Re: Stout auction today.

Boy, do I agree with that comment Jim. I had shipping problems as far back as the 80's when I was doing HO. Due to the weight of O scale poor packing is just exacerbated. I think the worst I dealt with was some KEY models shipped by a well know dealer out of Casco, MA. about 10-12 years ago. Mint Bi...

Re: Night Running on the CB&Q

That night shot is outstanding and the only thing missing is the sound and smell of the action. I have a question since you were involved in the research. A friend just bought and A/B set at Stouts of the the black stripe version. These seem to be pretty rare as most produced were the red stripe ver...
