Re: Finally good spray paint at a 20th century price

Little gray cells started working and I remembered I once bought a can of Harbor Mist Gray. So, started digging and found I have an almost new spray can of Scale coat 1 Harbor Mist Gray. I think this project is supposed to happen. You know what they say Butch: There are 3 signs of old age: Th...

Re: Some SRR Steam Locomotives

There were some nice pieces on Henry in the late "O Scale News". I also ran into that Turner guy there too! My first O scale related purchase was a collection of OSN back issues from Bob Hess.

Butch, I don't recall ever seeing any here in the East, but I was not well traveled in my youth.

Re: Doorstop four axle Diesels

Bob,

I feel for you! These days it's a crap shoot. I just finished with my own automotive misadventure. Cost me a grand and a lot of pain and suffering.

So last week some Gal T-bones me in a supermarket parking lot. That magnetic paint option sucks!

Erik, Thanks for the additional! Always fascinating to learn more. Be a dream if ALL those folks could write a chapter in THE book of brass. Sadly some are no longer with us. I solidly agree with Bob T. "Me Like Metal!" LOL

Re: KEY v/s Lionel "scale" F3's.

So Key is Samhongsa? A lot of this stuff is to the best of my knowledge! If you know better, feel free to correct! Ted McKey (hope I got that right) would be the guy to tell the tale. (Not sure if he is still with us.) Maybe Dave DeVita (son in law) This is to the best of my knowledge aka hearsay: ...

Really GOOD tips from our members!

Sone GREAT tips for track! My favorites are from Maroon and Chris Webster. Maroon's is good to ensure straight track, Home Depot sells thin steel bars in various widths. They are about a meter (39") long. and what you want it the 1 1/4 inch wide one. Put it between the rails of your tangent fle...

Are we having fun yet? You bet!

Wish the "Brasshole" guy was still around. His image was second to none.

Re: KEY v/s Lionel "scale" F3's.

I guess I'm just a "Brasshole" (old joke from waaaay back on this board, LOL) but to me, Samhongsa pretty much nailed the F's and E's. The re-formed remnants of Samhongsa, "Sam Model Tech", (guess they are still out there) had access to the legendary machine that was used to form...
