I believe that a while back MMW posted that he had dropped his original builder of the models he has brought to meets, notice he is now one year past his last General News posting, just saying.

Correct to the best of my knowledge. Original builder was gent named Song. He was released and a factory was supposedly procured, and correct ala the GN posting. To be fair, I don't know how much the pandemic has affected things, but I would think that it must have.

If the reservation holders (I am not one) have received any news they are not talking.

I was going to go over to NK and ask - but a search indicates that some folks think that, since I am not actively buying, I have no right to participate in the discussion. They actually shut the thread down, maybe because of my unauthorized comment.

Last post I could find was some guy asking for MMW's phone number. He got no answer. Not a peep recently. Seems like it has fizzled.

You would think that, with Covid, hobbies would be ascendant. Nope.

A year later the MMW discussion has resumed. Martin was slammed for his impatience, and the last year of the ten year delay is blamed on Covid. I assume that means all those talented Korean craftsmen spent last year avoiding hot soldering irons.

This place is dead - some of that may be due to the need to log in every time we post from an iPad?

The exact put-down: "Patience, big grasshopper."

And the announcement will be in "due time," not three months.
"Due time" deserves an answer, but management locks threads when the MMW proponent is challenged.

Entertainment for me; after the SD9 I lose interest in motive power, and have zero interest in the SD40/45 genre. I am surprised at my recent interest in the U50 and that neat Squaw Creek GE unit. It won't expand.

The only thing I've heard/learned from one importer, is there are traveling restrictions going into Korea from the USA, so inspecting a project has been difficult at best and impossible at the worst. Haven't research it, so I don't know whether it's real or imagined......I sure know I wouldn't care to go to any foreign country at this time in history.

I also recently read a post on the Protocraft website stating "the latest run of Boo Rim built cars is being redone and should be delivered in Spring of 2021". Apparently what was delivered late last year didn't meet Norm's approval and Boo Rim has been the the new "King" of brass building for many years. So, I believe Covid could have negative affects on production in many ways.

But, these MMW delays have been ongoing for years, long before Covid came around, although I think Covid may have exacerbated the problems.

I could loan him my spare XP laptop. Of course, since it came from my buddy in Carlsbad, it would end up with more miles on it than a 737MAX got all last year.

we had a 18 month delay on a container from Thailand. It was paid for October of 2019. It should have been received in Jan/Feb of 2020. It should up June 23,2021. Shipping prices have quadrupled in the last year. It's hard to find an empty shipping container.

I think the big problem appears to be lack communication and updates. A production delay caused by Covid, quarantines, container delay, low factory production or whatever, tell your customers..........saying nothing is the worst you can do. It gives rise to concerns that are far worse than just delays. I have no horse in the race either.

But on the other hand, if MMW is communication directly with reservation holders and not posting to their website (for some reason) then so be it.
