Northern weather
Re: Northern weather
Ya know, Wayne, when I look at your ground zero, it looks like something I'd want to take a rake to and just rip it all out. But going back to your up close first pic, one realizes that Nature, (or God's creation, depending on your perspective) is very rewarding.
If you agree with the Progressives, it's freedom of speech. If you disagree, it's hate speech. There are no alternatives.

Murph , I apologize for my tardiness in my reply, been so busy making money couldn't even go to Chicago AGAIN!!!!! The brand name is roof rake and I think it came from Westlake ACE it has held up well the sticker that is still on it says patent pending so ,I would google and see. good luck. With the pictures of your roof I would order 2 extra poles.

Thanks very much, Aterry11. I appreciate all those particulars.

Heading to upstate New York tomorrow, 03/20, and it's supposed to rain/snow mix. Was thinking about the interstates 83-->81-->84-->87 route, but I'm thinking the upper end of 81 around Scranton and 84 could be dicey...oy.

Yes, I am planning on heading to Philly and then over to Merchantville, NJ on Sat for the O scale meet, but it's looking like 3-5" on Fri. I might be able to get to Philly, but then to get over to NJ seems "challenging", and for all I know, few others might get there as well making it a wasted trip. Might have to re-think this one...

Re: Northern weather
Merchantville
Friday 1-3" mixed with rain
Fr. night low 29 less than 1/2" mixed with rain
Saturday Sunny high 49
Per NOAA, not the fearmongering Weather Channel
NOAA has real underpaid scientists, not overpaid women actors whose qualifications come in pairs.

The Weather Channel (which we do not get anymore) but weather.com has been very accurate this year for my area. But, I have little trust in any weather forecast service and NOAA has been very wrong around here more than once.
Precipitation at 29 degrees, and getting up and driving in it (ice...) tends to not be all that positive an experience here. There in Merchantville, it may or not be worse, but we'll see what's what.
I can swing by and pick you up for the ride there...........as it looks like I'm on my own in the dark Sat morning now for an up & back.

Little stops me other than a large white whale that I have battled and pursued now for many decades...............

And whales have a way of getting and holding our attention, even if we keep ourselves at a distance. (Maybe Mr. Munch knew what he was expressing to us.)

Some have a black dog; I have a white whale that visits.

One of my favorite artists; I spent the better part of day in a gallery in Oslo some years ago. Time well spent as I unsure that I will ever be able to return there.

How true. Many things travel wise that I once took for granted are now very uncertain. While I once relished the idea of heading off to points unknown, now not so much!

We chickened out and jumped in the car Thursday night and drove straight through to Albany...we got in around 0300 Friday morning, a few hours before the mess started.
Drove up with the neighbors who had scheduled school tours at SUNY-Albany and RPI. Hung out with my kid while they were off touring. Highlights included perfectly chilled Guinness at Katie O'Byrnes, a great used bookstore (W. Somers Bookseller) and a cracked windshield in the Countryman (you can't win 'em all).
Good trip...
