I expect nothing and I’m still let down.
Re: A few CVRR pictures and some other related pictures....
It looks great to me but probably didn't win awards because it is not to scale.

Not to what scale?
Re: A few CVRR pictures and some other related pictures....
You're right. Nothing to compare it to.

Ah, for the good old days when people cared enough about their jobs
to want to reproduce it at home!
The scale, or lack of it, doesn't bother me...after all, he has a lot of the
details right. How many people do you know who model the plug-in
headlight so completely so as to include the plug and cord? Might
even be functional and work!
But what does bother me is how short this trolley's run must be---look
at the location of the lineside (supporting) trolley poles!
But at least he did include a set of stairs for passenger access...

Wolf,
My comment was a poor attempt at some humor.
I have seen some models at shows that were judged and looked great to me that did not do well and lost to models that did not seem to be as nice.
Nuff said.

I esp. like the detail, in number and thickness,of the horizontal poles across the bottom portion of the windows, which is a real-lie detail I recall well. My grandfather was a motorman, and I got free rides, as a boy, anytime I showed up at the end-of-the-line turn-around in McKeesport, PA. The trolley was orange and cream colored, and made plenty of noise when it rolled its route through the cobblestone paved streets. The bars were to help keep folks' hands inside and not get them sheared-off (or so the urban-legend went) by passing whatevers.

Yet, I remember the overall stature of those trolleys as being more prodigious and less "cute," like that model represents, probably a deliberate effort on his part, unless there were trolleys shorter than I recall like that one seems to represent. Here's the one on my layout, which I hope you don't mind my sharing again - seems less "cute," huh.

The orange and cream colors must have been used alot. I think most in the Wheeling area were similar.
I think I also recall cream and green being used in the Wheeling area.
I find myself trying to move things when looking at photos of your layout, either to see something
better or see what's behind or hidden and I just can't get that stuff to move.

The WB&A used them on a few cars for a while; their "Capital Cities" color scheme. Extremely handsome cars in those colors.
