Might have been something along the walls from a prior use of the space that after being removed required patching and parging...

I just liked the captured scene and era. Never thought to create an interior that would have such a purpose. There's one for you to try out.

You're right, of course, it is an interesting interior, for sure. However, if somebody hadn't seen such a place, I'm not sure how acceptable they'd find such an interior in a modeled scene.

For example (I'll try to take a photo later), a lone cape cod-style house sitting with its little yard smack-dab in the middle of a commercial neighborhood, complete with strip-mall and office buildings, would seem UNrealistic to many layout viewers, so I would not - have not - modeled it, not even for myself. Yet, it exists a mile+ down the street from me. Given the limits on layout real-estate, I try to be reasonable.

Have I made any sense to anybody at all ?

Yes..........

But, if you know it's prototypical, why do you care about what others think, particularly if you can print out a photo to prove it, post in your layout room near it, on the table when you sell it, etc.?

Also, my dad used to operate such a place in lower Manhattan during the depression; Delancy St., I think.

True, particularly since neither of us made note of this being good or not-so good or just bad, or just flat out silly,

A bicycle sharing the scene with a horse-n-wagon. Wouldn't have thought of that. Now I will. :D

The 2 overlapped long ago and still do to this day.

I actually like that porch roof on the house to the right - appears to have rounded corners (maybe an illusion?). Have to think about how I could do that and still have it look good.

I wonder if the porch floor corners match?
