Between waves, thought about hev and how blessed I am that I can still do this.

San, amen! Never played any sport more violent than pick-up basketball. My only organized sports were track and cross-country. Been involved in several gang-tackles at work over the years, but they're few and far between. I therefore have a relatively undamaged body, (save the attrition exacted by the redhead). That, and with what Hev has had to endure in his lifetime, I too can count my considerable blessings.

I asked you once about the hourglass board, but the post sank on a busy thread.

You ever try this baby?

I read two reviews about the 101...
Great place: What a mob of people on weekend day we were there. Place simply rocks. Food is hot and delicious. Service is fast and friendly.

Best Breakfast in San Diego!: The staff know their customers by name and the hollandaise sauce is a gift from above. I recommend the eggs benedict but if you close your eyes and point at a menu item you will leave happy and well fed.

Maybe meet you there one day for some eggs/sausage/taters/toast/joe.

Ohhhhhhh Yea., I'm back so now you Bo's are gonna have to deal with it................

I want to thank all you Bo's for the git well prayers and speedy recovery stuff. I really appriciate that. That's all part of the healin' process......................... 8)

Want to thank Dirt Man and Jon for keepin' you guys all updated. I know I'm sore as hell. Of all the back surgerys I had I never hurt that much. Not this one. It's gonna be a long haul but I'll make. I'll take one day at a time.

Patty counted the stiches last night and it's 60+..................
Still on the walker cruzin' around. Not crazy about it but I don't have a choice. As each day goes by I do feel the healin' process taking place.

This surgey had more stuff to deal with than my other ones. What they did was cleaned out everything down in the lower back. This involved taking out the old fusion from 12 years ago. That stuff was rods, plates, screws, bolts, nuts, etc.

The next step was cleaning the area out such as bone spurs, bone chips etc. Once that was done then I was measured up for the new fusion. All this involved 10 hrs of surgery. And let me tell ya it feels like 10 hrs of surgery. So, now I have all new up to date hardware in me now. My doctor and I hope this works...........................

BTW Dirt Man...........................I'm still on hold as of 12:30 hrs.........

Oh shit .....I almost forgot to tell yus the drugs are good too.......................

Talk atcha' later...................
hev..............

And if THAT doesn't work, the Visiting Nurse is going to get pulled from her nap to come make a house call with her glove and tube of 'K-Y Jelly', and she ain't gonna be happy!

Hev,

Good to see you back. That backless hospital gown is quite something. At 60 stiches, wy didn't they just put in a zipper?

Dirt,

Would love to sit at the counter at the 101 with you. Recommend the Ho'made corned beef hash, eggs, and hash browns. Uh, once a year, any way; gotta watch it.

Besides heavy rain and thunderstorms soaking the flatlands, snow blanketing the mountains and 12- to 18-foot waves battering the beaches, today could bring waterspouts, tornadoes, hail and the rarely seen graupel, which forms when supercooled water droplets coat snowflakes.

graupel. I have never heard of graupel and now we have it.

Graupel (also called small hail, soft hail, or snow pellets; METAR code: GS) refers to precipitation that forms when supercooled droplets of water condense on a snowflake, forming a 2–5 mm ball of rime; the snowflake acts as a nucleus of condensation in this process. Graupel is the German word for this meteorological phenomenon.

San, for somebody that lives in the Land of Sunshine, you sure do see it all!

That report you quoted had everything but a tsunami.
Holy cr*p!

Never heard of "graupel" either. That's a new one.

All we had today was the garden-variety frost.

Nothing exciting, but kinda pretty up close.

Jon,

Being an old "stick in the mud", I had forgotten that in "civilized" states of the union, one can buy the 'golden nectar' at grocery stores. Makes me recall that there are a lot of silly laws that apply to alcohol in different states. My favorite recollection was about 30+ years back (egad) when I was spending some time in Tennessee. One could only buy beer at night spots, and those that wanted "hard" stuff had to brown bag their own and buy setups from the establishment. That law was NOT the prize winner. The award winner pertained to beer drinkers. Seems that when the witching hour rolled around, ALL beer had to be put in styrofoam containers, which ended up being cups. People would buy extra pitchers right before the midnight closing time so they could continue to drink. At midnight, the management would come around to the tables and pour ALL this beer into styrofoam cups. Needless to say there were jillions of them. A very strange sight to someone not familiar with the local law. I still smile when I recall seeing all those cups the first time!

Rich, that sounds exactly like the laws we had in North Carolina during my Marine Corp enlistment. You also had to purchase liquor from a state run store. Fast forward to now and time has stood still in the Mississippi county I reside in! We can purchase beer but have to go to another county to purchase liquor or wine. Hence we just distill it in our own backyards.
