I sometimes will write in the margins.
My grandfather had comments all over his Bible.
What was most interesting about this is that he only
completed five years of school and his handwriting,
usually with a pencil, was legible and spelling was
pretty good. He was not a deep thinker but but was
not afraid to question almost anything. If something
was completely beyond him he would say so and let
others worry about it.

That's a good guess, but the kid is not picking his nose, having a smoke, nor holding a brewski, so it couldn't have been I. But your question shows you have a good eye and equally good sense. And thanx for thinking the best 'o me. Such a cute li'l chap.

Here's the real li'l Murph in his pre-trains period, during the time he got the nickname - maybe the same day. (Notice the good posture and the "Hello, world-whacha-got-there-buy-me-something" attitude.)

It's a pretty neat structure all around - cards like this really provide some inspiration to get in the shop and build something!

I'm just too stacked up with too many projects on the bench spaces and in the immediate queue.....

From 1 of 3 jobs - in some ways the remaining 2 eat up more time than the 1st does now. And, it seems that I may be staying on part-time in a somewhat different role at the 1st......

Well, I probably could do that and take over another portion of the basement, too - probably cost more than I make for a year to expand the basement if I can get that approved by both the county and the HOA. Probably have to not retire for another year (or 2) to pay for that - oops! There went that time problem back to square 1.....
