Really clean build and the paint & decals look great.

Thanks, guys! That was rattle can Scale Coat & K4 decals.

Now I've to get back to that other salvage project since some needed parts arrived last night.

This is a nice thread. Martin's creations are exquisite, albeit quite a distance from my railroad interests. He has a level of attention to detail that I will never attain.

I do need to add to this collection - I have a friend in Merida, Mexico - George Methot - who gifted me a really well made brass gondola maybe 15 years ago. I have lost track of him, but every time I hook that car into a freight train it brings a smile to my face. He made it himself from sheet brass, and gave it to me just because - only thing I could ever figure was he liked my articles in OSN. What a guy!

So I shall get a photo in the Shutterfly, and show you his artistry. Soon.

Yes. Handcrafted in brass. Everything is dead-straight. It is a bit out of my era, but only marginally so, and looks great in a string of 1940s-era freight cars. I think Gerald even sent it with metal trucks, since these types of roller bearing trucks are not what are usually found in my truck collection.

What's the underbody and the brake end of the car look like, Bob?

I ever show you this? All scratchbuilt including truck sideframes. Still needs outriggers, which I have not yet figured out.

Thanks! A fun build using all sorts of bits and "stuff" - 3D printed figure with the dog just had to go on the one end!  There is "stuff" inside as well.....but all stick building for body and frame with brass poles that thread into frame and roof supports. And, another paper roof...sprayed the underside aluminum and walked around the exposed paper edge with a brown Sharpie....
