Nice, Wayne. A near-endless source of back-drops.
Off to York today. Gotta pick up a number of parts for an upcoming project; otherwise, just a walk through the member halls. Can’t hang around too long.

Re: Weekend Photos -- April 2026
A Spring York 2026 find, a nice prewar version of the Lionel 3659:

A fun car with children, this one was an upgrade from the nicked-up example we have in the collection. Load it up with marbles and you're ready to go. With prewar stuff in freefall price-wise, couldn't leave this behind. Saw a number of the postwar versions, but not many prewar.

There is also a larger version of the prewar 3659 that goes with the 800/2800 freight cars. A 3859
The first ones come with the auto box coupler and the later ones use the simulated diecast knuckle coupler
The postwar carry over of the 3659 with the new knuckle couplers is the 3559
Were you able to get any of the parts you were looking for ? It looks like Trainz has bought out most of the older dealers

The 3859 can be a tough find (although they turn up on eBay occasionally). I'm a fan of the smaller 600/2600-series freights, given the tight curve radii on the basement pike.
I've been working with Paul Misuriello over at Trainworx ever since George Tebolt shuttered his parts business (and shortly thereafter passed away). Paul carries a lot of prewar parts, but not as much as George carried.
I needed a bunch of stuff for the 2037 I'm planning to breathe life back into, and Paul has pretty much anything you need for postwar. Super-knowledgeable and very helpful, he's my guy. Trainz has a lot of stuff, possibly including all of Tebolt's remaining stock, but their online catalog is tough to use, and I find their shipping is borderline oppressive.
I'll stick with Trainworx:
