Look forward to seeing it in paint. I love the rivets on the vertical braces.

Going to be a while - snowcrete is abundant here.....

Thanks! Tichy nbw's inside and out. Tedious, but it makes / finishes the look!

Is there a prototype for this car or just an interesting idea? What do the tanks hold? It would certainly make you do a double take running or sitting on a layout.

Beautiful work Rufus, but what is it? It's intriguing.

When I was very young I remember a similar water car parked in the SP yard at Ft. Huachuca, Ariz. It had only one tank, with the little house occupying the other half, and it was painted boxcar red.

Western or Northern Pac had one of these; ran across an article on it a while back and thought it might be fun to make something close....

Fuel oil car........

Love the straps holding the corners together. Had to be some pretty heavy duty trucks if those tanks were full of fuel oil.
