There are still a lot of rural roads in this country that look like that. It's amazing how oil and asphalt changed things.

Mine's got slate down on it for the last 50+ years; mud and rocks are not making a decent enough road.

I’d love to take a Springtime or Summer’s stroll down a lane like that but have a sinking feeling I’d be offering myself up to myriad insects , ready for the kill. :(

Yup! Put that on your layout if it'll fit in basement, :wink: :wink:

Lots of window openings....and what looks like the business car for the bosses to ride out to it and do an inspection of the operation.
