Not really; just depends on what era you model and what equipment you choose to run. My pre-1920 engines have no problem with that radius. For that matter, my anachronism train with an RS3 or an NW2 has no problem either with that radius.
I expect nothing and I’m still let down.

Yep and I had a good laugh.
I would like to have one of the Lionel bump-reverse trolley cars marked for AMTRAK.

Do they also become upset over domed passenger cars for roads that never had any.

Many years ago, about 1991 or so, there was a LOTS convention locally. My basement was open for tours. Two Lionel upper echelon folks came, with cameras, really liked my custom-painted Loewy Schemed Northern Pacific F-5's. (Lionel postwar F units are somewhere between F-3 and F-7).

Even passenger cars.

Next year or two Lionel came out with NP painted passenger train and diesels.
But, for the 027 crowd, the diesels were FA's. As in ALCO.

You get one guess as to how many ALCO FA's the NP had.

Most likely same. As in, less than one.

Models? Oh, geez. I have a box of Lionel H0 FA (and one or two FB) in Santa Fe warbonnet silver and red, and a pair in blue and yellow.

"Customer Demand". In Large Scale (#1 gauge) but 1:29 scale, USA Trains made (probably still makes) an NW-2 in silver and red warbonnet. Non-discriminating hobbyists....the manufacturer sells all he makes, so why change?

I think everyone is happy that the guy is happy with his fantasy scheme engine.

He drew the most deserved response when he claimed the CB&Q painted Pennsy model was "close."

This true point of contention seemed lost by many.

Yeah - strange. I was commenting on the extreme reaction to a few benign comments. It isn't the model, or the inaccuracies - it was the absolute anger that caught my attention.

A poster named HW really made some nasty comments; but then most of what he posts is at the same level.

Dave,
Which of HW's comments were nasty? They might have been blunt, but the content seemed pretty spot on.

The thread is now closed; I am surprised that it has not been deleted.

As for "close" it's all relative. Ten miles isn't close if you have to walk to the store, but it is if they are dropping atomic bombs.

I just started to read the thread in question, and the guy was aware of what he had, and the thing actually looks pretty decent. Dang three rail rivet counters!

I support thread drift.

Calling the Pennsy J1 close to the CB&Q engine is like dropping nuclear bombs in a different universe and walking to the store there. Way out there.
