No fair taunting Butch!
Nothing better than a black car all cleaned up!

Re: Car Thread
Not meant that way at all......just sharing. I've waited over 50 years for that car and I'm almost too old to enjoy it now.
1st black car I've owned since a real turd back in the 60's. Black is a b*tch for sure. I dust it at least once a week with one of those new wand dusters and amazing how much dust it collects and how much better it looks just removing the dust.......you don't even see the dust until you take it off and its shinier. But, on this car, black looks really good and its not a daily driver and will never see inclement weather.

Maybe not parking under trees would be good, too,
Just remember: what horses consider play, monkeys consider business, but to Tom it’s all foolery.
Re: Car Thread
That was only so I could take the photo. Always wanted to park a nice old car under a tree, but you're absolutely correct...tree sap sucks. Cars photograph well in grass and country settings. I'm sure there's some artistic or poetic explanation, but I just like seeing cars in grass like the 57 above in this thread.

So do birds and squirrels,

Did someone say..."57"?
Re: Car Thread
I have never seen a photo of a Thunderbird racer until now.

That is pretty incredible for sure. Bet is isn't stock suspension or frame under that body. Never cared much for the 55-57 T-bird looks and pretty sure I'm a minority on that.
This was the corvette version from 1957.

Re: Car Thread
That's one ugly Corvette.
How about a 63 Ford Falcon. Very quick, won its class race this year.

Re: Car Thread
My grandfather had a '63 Falcon...last American car I remember with a choke on the dash.

Re: Car Thread
When I was a kid, our elderly neighbors had a mid-sixties Ford Ranchero, which IIR, was built on the Falcon chassis. Little 6 cyl., less than 200 c.i. or so, and a 3 on the tree tranny. Nice little ride.

Re: Car Thread
Except for the tail lights its pretty hard to see the 63 Falcon in there. We had a 1960 turquoise blue. Dad always went for odd cars. Bought a 65 dodge dart after the Falcon and had several Studebaker's in the early 50's.

Re: Car Thread
Just for fun...
Let me ask...
Yesterday, I had occasion to be walking around a Mercedes Benz dealership showroom, while one of our cars was being serviced, and came upon a glistening, silver, inside and outside, very proud of itself
, new 'Benz convertible.
Pertinent detail: Ever since my first Cadillac Seville, in 1977, I have been enamored of having a "moon-roof" in every vehicle, so "open" cars are not a foreign concept to me. Also, I have had a long history of motorcycles, further back in time.
I also had an open T-roof Pontiac Firebird, in the mid-80's and enjoyed it thoroughly.
I'm not even sure why I am sitting here asking you all this by typing this out and posting it, but whatthehey, you guyz know stuff, so What d' ya' think? Should I even be entertaining this idea? Huh? Huh?
