Maybe you do, but Walt Disney certainly didn't.

No, but these guys were way ahead of the curve on imagination even when they were young. Both Lucas, Spielberg and Coppola were making home movies when teenagers. They had/have passion and genius for what they do. Very creative people!

Once again, we are letting ourselves live wild-and-free, it would appear (though, I must admit, I was developing some guilt along that line. )

Tell us what we should do next, then, here? :? :) I, for one, will abide by your missive immediately, sir.

Well Roy started this thread and apparently Roy shifted direction. I have no problem with it. It can be a lot of FUN trying to guess the movie. Can it be any movie or should we keep it to movies that are maybe train related if even only in a minor roll.

Or can we just get wild and reckless with what ever we want :?: Maybe Roy will tell us how we should proceed.....

If ya wanna talk about movies, trains, and movies on trains, keep in mind The Thin Man series with William Powell and Myrna Loy. Part of one movie in the series, they're on a train from L.A. to N.Y, or vice versa. Love that Thin Man series. Remember watchin' it when I was kid on the old Zenith black and white in the late '50s. And Myrna Loy was HOT!

Bad Day at Black Rock (1955). I've never seen it. Do they tell you why they're using Black Widow freight engines on that passenger train?

And Hondo, it's not me you need to apologize to, but Wayne.

Don't know for sure, maybe to reduce the weight of the engines. ?

The area, at the foot of Mount Whitney on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevadas, was deemed suitable for its remoteness and the fact that it had an unused stretch of track that once connected it to Los Angeles; this was a must for the opening and closing sequences featuring the arrival and departure of the Streamliner.

Southern Pacific railway agreed to run the train to Lone Pine for $5,500 and the cost of 265 round-trip passenger tickets. According to Sturges, the train had to be run backwards light cars first, engine in the rear and slowly, due to concerns about some old bridges, taking about 18 hours to get there from the city.

Anyone know the name of movie number one? Here's another screenshot from it:

Could it be "Trainspotters"?,
a story about the antics of four (recovering) drug addicts,
filmed partially within/on a Bavarian subway system (according to the channel guide).
Lots of 'shoot em up' scenes, ...not enough trains. :(

Still lurking...... ;)
