Naw, but Thanks, Tramp. Thanks very much.
Roy's a good fellow; he just forgets, sometimes, that when you're driving and you pull in or out of a parking space, ya gotta watch every move you make or you may do some damage to the cars alongside, knocking-off this-or-that or giving somebody an accidental scratch or dent. We have to look in all directions at all possibilities when we are traveling with and around others, huh.

That, dear Murph, is Carol Lombard kicking John Barrymore's butt .

The movie is, Twentieth Century, and it takes place on a Train with the same name. Unfortunately, most of the train “action” occurs onboard (thus on a set) in a Pullman sleeper and adjacent lounge car. :(

Marlene Dietrich's legs are overrated. [opinion, of course.] :D

The bottom image is The Iron Horse. Lots and lots of train action in The Iron Horse.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Wayne, you are correct again, for movies two and three! Twentieth Century is from 1934, The Iron Horse is from 1924, and is silent.

Anyone know the name of movie number one? Here's another screenshot from it:

Thanks very ,much for this info, Wayne. I had a not unfounded feeling you'd decide correctly what-was-what.

Regarding Ms. Dietrich's legs, my impression was that she was happy with them, but, truth-be-told, I did like Joan Crawford's legs better (and I am sure she would have agreed.) Of course, in my opinion, their faces and the attitudes expressed (acted?) through them were the larger factors in their images. To me, they both had real presence, on screen and off.

I suppose I did not readily recognize Carol Lombard because I never saw her in many movies, due, I suppose, to her demise in the plane crash, early (it seemed to me) in her career and in her relationship with Clark Gable. What a shame.

That's a good one, Roy, :P totally correct. Not "Twisted Evil" at all, just fair playing-around. Funny guy. :D AND not a bit of snot got on anybody. :o

P.S. "Snark attack" ? That's a bit overstated and dramatic, huh? Eh? (Don't bother replying - I know you won't agree.)

Murph, here's another photo from the middle film above:

Carole Lombard, but I don't recognize the movie....looks like a good one!

Both Lombard and Barrymore made some great comic movies

"Midnight" with Ameche, Barrymore and Colbert is well worth looking for.

"My Man Godfrey" with Lombard, William Powell, Eugene Pallette and more is another great movie.

We really love these old movies!!!!

We do love them, BH.
Somehow, they seemed to have "atmosphere."

For example, the original "Frankenstein" with Boris Karloff as the monster, and the original"Dracula," with Bela Lagosi, had more acting and atmosphere than the amount of action (I'm not complaining) typical to contemporary films. IMO.

When I was a boy sitting in our town's single movie house , I'd swear I could smell the mold and damp funk coming off Frankenstein's body and clothes.

Ding! Ding! Ding! That's correct, Chuck! Did you actually see the movie, or figure the answer otherwise?

Agree Murph, we seem to lose our imagination as we grow older, but movies from the 30's, 40's 50's and a few 60's are like comfort food.....they just make you feel good.

Spencer and Tracy in "Desk Set" is another great feel good movie. It's a lot of fun to see actual street scenes too, in order to see what it was really like since many of these movies are before my movie watching time.

Back before CGI and other enhancements in today's movies (don't get me wrong, I love (Harry Potter, Lord of the Ring and The Hobbit), the plot and characters had to carry the movie.

I also much enjoy seeing the clothing styles, men and women, and the cars, of the 20's, 30's, and 40's which get featured as the natural elements of the environments for the stories. And we can get a sense of the mores and customs of those times, too.
To me, the term "swank" might just as well have been coined in and for those days, especially when we are seeing the nightclubs featured in the story-lines, as well as those long trains on the gowns of the female characters who were supposed to be evidencing the sought-after elegance of those times. Right?

Once again, we are letting ourselves live wild-and-free, it would appear (though, I must admit, I was developing some guilt along that line. )

Tell us what we should do next, then, here? :? :) I, for one, will abide by your missive immediately, sir.
