I remember and experienced all of those things.

The same is true for me, too, Roger, except that I am not sure I ever had the Blackjack chewing gum, and the Teaberry is unknown to me.

P.S. Oh, and I never cared much for the pink NeccoWafers, nor the green Jujyfruits. :?

I tried all kinds of chewing gum and my favorite was JuicyFruit but I never really liked chewing gum of any type.

Alien to me as well in both cases.

Why does the intensity of the rain always begin to increase when one is ~1/2 way to the mail box and continue to do so until one manages to return to the house?

We used to like a black strap of licorice, approx. a foot long x 2" wide, similar to a belt, which had pink and white and yellow candy polka-dots scattered and affixed atop it. It was good for having smack-your-neck battles with buddies, but the candy could get sweaty from the strapping of each other's neck, so it sometimes didn't get eaten. (It was a suburb of Pittsburgh, and the 50's, so what I can I tell ya.)

During those halceon 50's days of freedom before we had to shutup in school, learn stuff, and get jobs to earn a living. :P  We'd also take MilkDuds, as the young warriors that we were, moisten them up in our mouths, and rocket-shoot them into the guy's hair sitting in front of us at the movies, usually during the third cartoon or MovieTone news reels.

Unsurprising.........and you'll probably be consigned to the 3rd circle for Hell for doing that, too.

Adams marketed Beemans (Pepsin flavored), apparently a favorite of pilots, Black Jack (strong licorice) and Clove. I have no idea why anyone would chose to chew "cloves". Teabury was from Clark and it was wintergreen based.

Neco wafers were never high on my list, I wasn't a happy camper when I found those in the Halloween candy, too chalky for my taste. They seemed more like flavored dry wall chips than anything else.

I saw Necco wafers in the candy department, but I never bought them. They look like colored communion wafers. Maybe, you're eating the bodies of confectioners of the past?

About 2 1/2 rolls over 20 years? There were eight "flavors". The "pastel colors" made things worse. White was cinnamon, purple was clove, pink was wintergreen and brown was supposed to be chocolate but was really vanilla with a hint of chocolate. Lime/orange/lemon/licorice were the others and they were reasonably color coordinated). Stuff was formulated for Union Soldiers during the civil war. I'd give the Necco Wafers away, preferably to people I didn't necessarily like. In college I think we left some for a "tip" at an eating place where the service was astonishingly bad.

I miss Chuckles. I know you can still get them at places like Cracker Barrel or Amazon (by the box). There are other "fruit gels" but I liked these the best. I'd start with the licorice one and then the lime followed by the orange, lemon and finally the cherry.
