Nice job, Robert! You found the predecessor of the station displayed by Healey!

I think the pictures above are the previous depot.
George, my memory tells me there were two to four tracks through the station.
There were under track passageways to get to the other tracks and there were,
I think, shelters similar to the Lionel ones.
That should be on the schematic I sent to you several years ago of the area.
I also think that is not too important in this case.
The Steubenville station was IMHO very impressive for a town of that size.
The grounds were also very well cared for but I don't remember any details.
It has been nearly 70 years since I was in that station so I could be wrong.

Roger, you are correct.

The station we are interest in opened in 1911. It was massive for its size. And there were 4 tracks to the station; 2 extended to the freight house and 2 were mainline. There was an underground subway to the reach the other mainline track.

Yes, I misspoke. A pedestrian underground passage.

I like the look of that station!

In the above photo can be seen two of the tracks and the shelter separating two tracks from the other two.
This station had a lot of traffic, both train and people. This was on the Pittsburgh-St. Louis main like.

This slide is from Bill Neale's and Curt Larue's presentation on the eastern portion of the Panhandle. It was given at the PRRT&HS Annual Meeting in Altoona in May.

The smaller rose-colored structure in the center of the area marked "Steubenville" is the station. I believe the freight house is the other colored structure (to the left).

Updated 8/4/2018:

Nothing exciting to report other than 3.5 sheets of 4' x 8' plywood have received a coat of shellac.

More of the same expected tomorrow.

Yeah, it is. Shellacking plywood is truly boring but also truly necessary.
